9th Region Tournament

No reason to play district title games if it means nothing.

How does it not mean anything? In this scenario, the two district finalists each played for a district title and both still made the Regional Tourney? I'm not seeing an unacceptable outcome based on using RPI no matter how it plays out?

Yep, down 2-0 headed to the 7th. Had men on 1st and 3rd with 2 out, down 2-1 and Landon Johnson was down 1-2 in the count. Worked it to a full count, and then roped a bases clearing double into the LC

What did they gain by winning a district title? They already made the regional before playing a district title game. Their RPI dictates who they play in the regional regardless of whether they win or lose the district title game. So why play the district title game?

1. A District Championship still means something to some teams right? And then there's...

2. RPI still rolls throughout the district - if a team wins, maybe they jump someone in the RPI and up their seeding in the Regional right?

If I am a coach, I rest everybody in the district championship game underneath your scenario. Especially my top pitchers.

Out of town for work and would love to catch some of these games. Sounds like some good ones. Is it really anybody's Region to Win? Of the Four teams left who is the Favorite? I'm hearing and seeing a little throughout the year that Conner is legit. Good luck to the Final Four playing tonight. I'm hoping for a Birds win though.

Definitely anybody's to win. It has been that way all year IMO. Plus, it's baseball. It is almost always anybody's to win in baseball. The most unpredictable of all the sports. On any given night.

I am probably in the minority, but I love a pitchers duel.
