January 15, 200719 yr You were the mascot and flew down from the rafters? No, I wasn't that cool. I had to walk down from the rafters like the other students...
January 15, 200719 yr I think you should start looking for a new team to support. I have yet to hear you say one positive thing about UK. You don't like our fans, you don't like our arena, you don't like our recruits.. Is there anything you DO like about UK? Wow that is just funny. Do you really want to go there. I mean do you not pay attention to all the UK threads that are usually posted. Im sure you can ask many people on here, that I am one of the biggest supporters of UK than anyone on here. I mean just ask all the Tubby haters who is right there arguing against them and supporting the team. Any time anyone actually puts down the team, I am there to support the team... You are right though I have started not to like some UK fans, because of some of the stuff they say ABOUT THE TEAM. But I guess since I dont think that Rupp is an exciting place and is usually dead, that means I dont support the team. I mean that is pretty funny. What I have said about Rupp is pretty much all true. Rupp is a place that is not a very exciting place to play at, except during the VERY FEW MOMENTS when the whole crowd decides to yell. And there needs to be changes to help this, but just because I say there needs to be changes, doesn't mean that I actually think they will change anything. Because I know that they wont change anything, but yet you still want to argue about it. So that is why I really think you should use that statement about a square and a round whole your self because your the only one who dont seem to get it. Then on the recruits guess what I am right again, because we do not consistently get top 10 recruits like you said. But I guess you dont know that I am someone who usually always is defending Tubby when it comes to recruits. Because besides for this years senior and sophomore classes he usually does bring in good classes. But yet you think I should root for a new school, when apparently you have no clue what you are talking about, because as I have said I am one of the biggest supporters of UK on this site. But you said something that just wasn't true about UK being in the top 10 consistently in recruiting when that just is not true. But since I said that does that mean I dont like are recruits no it dont... So next time before you tell someone that they should they consider finding a new team to support, you actually might want to know who you are talking to...
January 15, 200719 yr He doesn't like his seats either. Thats funny because I didn't know you knew where I sit. Because actually I usually am in the erupption zone or in the lower areana, so I like my seats usually. So as I been saying the reason for why I been saying more students should be in the lower areana isn't because I want better seats, because I already usually always have good seats how it is. I just want Rupp to become a place that is exciting and intimidating for people to play here, because tradition don't scare people these days...
January 15, 200719 yr The answer to B is no. Personal question. Why on earth would you do something the rest of your life that you don't think is exciting? Don't waste your time and money and leave the seat for someone who will enjoy it. You misread me. I get excited as anyone to go to a UK game even when it's against an awful Auburn team and my seats are in row DD. However my excitement doesn't change Rupp's environment as a whole, unfortunately.
January 15, 200719 yr Agreed.. Everyone claims that UK's students get the shaft as far as seating goes. However, they don't give the University a reason to move them to the sidelines. When they're on break they don't even fill the seats they do get. Yes I know they're out of school at those times. But you can't tell me a school of 30,000 can't find a couple thousand kids that want to come watch a basketball game between semesters, that's garbage. They usually do not take all of their allotment either. Thanks to that I have continued to get my season tickets for the last 8 seasons.
January 15, 200719 yr You can't fit luxury boxes in Rupp right now. The only alternative is to build a new arena, and that is not going to happen. Freedom Hall has pretty good views for their luxury boxes. because the sideline lowers are not very deep. The majority of Freedom Hall's seats are endzone extended to the upper deck. A new arena can feature so many other entities. Unfortunately, that will not happen.
January 15, 200719 yr Too difficult to get a whole sideline of seats for students at Rupp. Im in agreement with Hangman. Even if they did decide to do this, what about the fans who already have the sideline seats? My family has had ours since Rupp opened, I don't think we'd be willing to give that up easily.

If everyone was loud, this would be a moot point. This discussion is because the students believe that the rest of the fans are sitting on their hands. But let's be honest, the student section is boring, the band is predictable and unless UK is on a big run, the atmosphere is less than electric. UK fans would rather complain than cheer.
January 15, 200719 yr Agreed, im not saying there isn't good reason to why there needs to be a change to student seating. Im just saying why it probably wont happen. It can get pretty quiet around our seats during a game.
January 15, 200719 yr They usually do not take all of their allotment either. Thanks to that I have continued to get my season tickets for the last 8 seasons. Exactly.. But astonishingly they expect people who do go to the games and pay for their tickets, to just give them up so they (the students) can have better seats. Students: Maybe you should start using what is GIVEN to you have before you demand more!

Students: Maybe you should start using what is GIVEN to you have before you demand more! If the Students had better seats, I bet you they would be using everything that is given to them. Yeah I mean there are going to be games probably when students wouldn't want to get seats to sit in row ZZ in the upper arena to watch their own school play. However if they had better seats I almost guarntee you that they would go then instead of deciding not to because they could have a better view watching it on tv than in rows ZZ...

If those seats aren't good enough for the students to sit in we'll let paying customers have them then. Then those paying customers can get on the list for lower level seats, in the future. What's so bad about the seats that the students refuse to sit there for free, however other people pay good money to sit there? Beggers can't be choosers.
