January 15, 200719 yr You should read the papers!..Very informative. How many top 10 recruiting classes do we have on this years squad? I believe just one and that is the juniors on the team. Also next years recruiting class probably wont be in the top 10 either if we dont get P.P.. So what papers are you wanting me to look at, because I think you are the one who dont have the right information....
January 15, 200719 yr Yeah well I have yet to find a SINGLE person who agrees with you, that UK looks like an exciting place to play. Actually the only things I have heard is the exact opposite of you, in saying Rupp is not exciting and is usually dead. I bet you would have a hard time finding 10 people who agree with you. I mean I bet you the people at UK athletics apartment know Rupp is dead most of the time, but they wont make a change just because of the donation thing that we have been discussing. So thats why there are no changes in the works for Rupp, its not because Rupp is a exciting place, its because the ahtletics are just afraid to make a change because of the money... Because you are talking to students who want something for FREE...start hanging around with people who pay for stuff and you'll learn something... :D
January 15, 200719 yr Really? Would there still be a school?...Like I said, square block, round hole. I think I should be saying that to you, because you dont seem to get it...
January 15, 200719 yr Let's scrap Rupp and have the games at the Seaton Center, and just let students go.:sssh: If the games are not exciting to you guys, you should stay home and play video games or something... Clever, but A) You can make cute little jokes all you want about the Seaton Center and yadda yadda but the fact is that my previous statement is true. B) Would you like to play Guitar Hero or Madden 07? I'm down for whatever. I'll continue to go to UK games the rest of my life, wherever the seats are. However, if I wanted to go to an exciting venue to watch a college game, Rupp wouldn't be at the top of my list. Historic, yes. Exciting? No.
January 15, 200719 yr UK fans don't need other teams fans to argue with they can just do it with each other. Sorry to interrupt go on please I am enjoying this.
January 15, 200719 yr Because you are talking to students who want something for FREE...start hanging around with people who pay for stuff and you'll learn something... :D No I not saying that just because I want to sit down by closer to the arena. I saying that because it is true. Rupp is not a place that is exciting to play at. Especially for todays generation, what do you not get about that. Some of you all need to realize that things change, and they are not like they use to be. In todays generation, if kids have a choice between 24000 silent fans, or 9,000 crazy loud fans that are having fun. They would choose the school that has the crazy fans, because that would be a more fun environement to play at, instead of a quiet place that just has tradition...
January 15, 200719 yr UK fans don't need other teams fans to argue with they can just do it with each other. Sorry to interrupt go on please I am enjoying this. Its crazy isn't it. I know I find my self fighting with more of my fellow UK fans than I do UL fans. I know if I was you I probably would be enjoying reading all this stuff too... :thumb:

Why on earth would you do something the rest of your life that you don't think is exciting? Don't waste your time and money and leave the seat for someone who will enjoy it.
January 15, 200719 yr Lets see so I guess none of the money that students pay tuition go to any of the sport teams at all...Also I pretty sure UK would still be able to field a basketball team without most of these donations from people, because those people would just be replaced by some other people wanting to donate money to the program for seats. If students got more seats in the lower arena, that would open up more seats in the upper areana, and with UK having such a huge fan base, I pretty much can guarntee you that there would be plenty of UK fans that would run at the chance to buy season tickets still even if they were in the upper arena. The people right now who pay all the money for the lower arean seats aren't the only fans of UK, and could be replaced by others... They've been watching games since before you were born and you expect to take away their seats. Extremely funny.
January 15, 200719 yr How many top 10 recruiting classes do we have on this years squad?.... It would depend on who's rankings you look at, however Im not going to do your homework for you. I do remember them having a consensus #1 class a couple of years ago, however I think all home games were played at Cameron the year prior, so that probably explains how we stole those kids.. Just the other day I saw UK ranked 12th in current rankings, without PP. However Im not going to sit here and dig up 10 years worth of rankings to try and prove a point to you that you still won't get.
January 15, 200719 yr Not true, Billyrayjoebob seems to think that Rupp is still second to none compared to any other areana. That is kind of why this thread got started up I think, because me and him was arguing about it in the P.P. thread... I do agree GT's plan sounds very good to me...I know I actually would like it if they would just build a whole brand new areana... I bet you do:thumb: .

Rupp Arena isn't silent, in fact it's loud. And the 24,000 fans are having fun, or they wouldn't be there. And they wouldn't keep coming back.

I hear courtside seats at FH are much easier to come by. :thumb: BTW, what is UL's current student seating like?
