January 15, 200719 yr Im telling you, you are pretty much the only person who thinks Rupp looks like an exciting place to play. Yeah when you compare Rupp with other arenas and how many more fans we got at the game, you would think Rupp would be a more exciting place but its not. When recruits see all kinds of students yelling and jumping by the court, it looks alot better than Rupp arena where mostly everyone is sitting is quite... Believe me, almost everyone agrees with me and not you. That's why no changes are in the works for Rupp.:thumb:
January 15, 200719 yr It's not too bad for the people who pay the money to make the athletic department go. UK's facilities are a big plus in recruiting, not a negative... How Rupp looks on TV doesn't concern me...it looks like 24000 fans to me. I don't see any other arenas that look more exciting, certainly not 15 rows of students hopping up and down... The fact is that you could put 50,000 in Rupp but it still wouldn't be as rowdy/exciting (read: things that you want to make your arena attractive to recruits) as Cameron.
January 15, 200719 yr No matter what your going to have upset people. Right now you got upset students who should be closer to the court. Students who pay lots of money in tuition to go to the school, yet have to sit up high in the stand to watch THEIR OWN SCHOOL play... I thought you were done? :walk:
January 15, 200719 yr I wonder how many top ten recruiting classes UK has brought in since Rupp was built? I would guess more than most teams. And how much has todays generation change since Rupp was first built..With todays generation, when kids look and see 24,000 people sitting on their butts not saying a word, compared to 9,000 screaming crazy fans. Today's generation would choose the fun place with the crazy fans and the fun atmosphere...
January 15, 200719 yr I thought you were done? :walk: You make it so hard to get away with some of your comments...:walk: :sssh:

Students who pay lots of money in tuition to go to the school, yet have to sit up high in the stand to watch THEIR OWN SCHOOL play... You mean students whose PARENTS pay tuition...tuition pays for your education...You get in the game FREE because you go to school there...that's going to have to be good enough...
January 15, 200719 yr And how much has todays generation change since Rupp was first built..With todays generation, when kids look and see 24,000 people sitting on their butts not saying a word, compared to 9,000 screaming crazy fans. Today's generation would choose the fun place with the crazy fans and the fun atmosphere... So how do you explain UK's consistent top 10 recruiting classes.. Even in today's generation as you say... What about UNC? Do they lose recruits because students aren't all over the court? I think not.
January 15, 200719 yr You mean students whose PARENTS pay tuition...tuition pays for your education...You get in the game FREE because you go to school there...that's going to have to be good enough... And if students didn't go to the school there would be no UK basketball team...
January 15, 200719 yr So how do you explain UK's consistent top 10 recruiting classes.. Even in today's generation as you say... What about UNC? Do they lose recruits because students aren't all over the court? I think not. Wow I must have been missing out lately, because I didn't realize that we still are consistently getting top 10 recruiting classes...
January 15, 200719 yr The fact is that you could put 50,000 in Rupp but it still wouldn't be as rowdy/exciting (read: things that you want to make your arena attractive to recruits) as Cameron. Let's scrap Rupp and have the games at the Seaton Center, and just let students go.:sssh: If the games are not exciting to you guys, you should stay home and play video games or something...
January 15, 200719 yr You mean students whose PARENTS pay tuition...tuition pays for your education...You get in the game FREE because you go to school there...that's going to have to be good enough... Exactly.. When I buy a ticket for a UK game, I go to the game expecting to watch basketball, not get an education. So why should the students expect to get good basketball seats, when all they paid for was an education. :sssh:
January 15, 200719 yr And if students didn't go to the school there would be no UK basketball team... There will always be 10s of thousands of students who will go there to get their education and get in games free....
January 15, 200719 yr Wow I must have been missing out lately, because I didn't realize that we still are consistently getting top 10 recruiting classes... You should read the papers!..Very informative.
January 15, 200719 yr Believe me, almost everyone agrees with me and not you. That's why no changes are in the works for Rupp.:thumb: Yeah well I have yet to find a SINGLE person who agrees with you, that UK looks like an exciting place to play. Actually the only things I have heard is the exact opposite of you, in saying Rupp is not exciting and is usually dead. I bet you would have a hard time finding 10 people who agree with you. I mean I bet you the people at UK athletics apartment know Rupp is dead most of the time, but they wont make a change just because of the donation thing that we have been discussing. So thats why there are no changes in the works for Rupp, its not because Rupp is a exciting place, its because the ahtletics are just afraid to make a change because of the money...
January 15, 200719 yr And if students didn't go to the school there would be no UK basketball team... Really? Would there still be a school?...Like I said, square block, round hole.
