As a chance to start building a team that he committed to way before he was name Mr. Basketball.

This Canadian tournament wasn't even announced until after the high school season was over and he was named Mr. Basketball, no way of knowing then there would be a conflict.

He may not play 36 minutes a game in Canada, but with just a handful of scholarship players he will be needed.

I'm not referring to him being named Mr. Basketball, I'm talking about his commitment to the all star team.  He committed to the all star team.  Why did he commit and then drop out.

You do an incredible job balancing those who think UK does no wrong with your takes that UK does no right.

If Frederick wants to play, transfer to NKU.

  • Look how progressive the NCAA has become. Good for them.

Oscar wanted 4 million to come back originally but then his handlers demanded Kentucky give him 8 million guaranteed.

What a joke!

When did he commit to it? Was it before the schedule for the Canadian trip was announced?

His people may have wanted more money than last year, but those numbers are crazy high. He'd have to make an NBA roster and stay in the league 4 or 5 years to approach $8,000,000 in total earnings.

Honestly, I don't know.  I'm guessing it was announced way in advance of the all star team being put together.

I'm guessing that he never "Committed" to the All-Star game. Being Mr Basketball he automatically had a spot on the team and the #1 jersey...people just assumed he'd play. I'd add that if not for the conflict with his new teams schedule, he absolutely would have played.

My biggest issue is anyone calling him "Classless" because they don't like his decision.

I'll help. Kentucky officially announced the trip to Canada on April 24th, via the ukathletics website.

They have the all star scrimmage game this Saturday, then the home and away games next weekend.  Why would wait until a couple days ago to announce you're not playing.  No doubt he knew all along he was going to the big house the first of June.

Okay, why wait until the end of May to announce, I'm not playing?

Sounds like there are some rumblings of some UK Basketball news coming out today.

Good news or bad news?

It may have to do with Isaiah Miranda.  Also coach Calipari is meeting with Antonio Reeves today to talk about a return to Kentucky. It could also be about David Jones.

There are also rumors of a Karter Knox reclass to 2023.

I think good news. My buddy shared some information from some guy in the know on the AAU circuit. I think its along the lines of one of the things that @GOREDDEVILSmentioned.

Karter's Dad just said  Karter is not going to reclass from what I have read. So I wouldn't put A lot of stock into this one.
