Warren Central (4th Region Champions, 32-1) vs. Pulaski County (12th Region Champions, 27-6)

Warren Central enters on a team-record 23 game win streak.  Pulaski County has won their last five after losing the last game of the regular season at Boyle County.

I would imagine +15 pt win for the "rejects".  WC size will overwhelm Pulaski Co.

Agreed. I think Pulaski County can be competitive for a while, but the size will be too much as the game goes along. Last year's Pulaski team might have been a better matchup.

There’s always a puncher’s chance but I would be lowkey shocked if Pulaski County pulled off the upset.  

Would be one of the bigger upsets to ever happen IMO.

I'll say that looking at it, this should be an easy Warren Central win on paper. However, I also think it has the potential for been the hardest game for them on their projected path. Pulaski doesn't have the depth that Warren Central does and I'm more concerned about that then any physical mismatches. I think this could be a tie in the 30s around half but end up being a 20 point win for Warren Central. With that said, Pulaski just needs to control tempo at some critical junctures to stem that from happening. Must easier said than done, but that's how they win.

I worry about the Maroons ability to contain Whitney in the post.  PC doesn't have a true big man.  I'm with you on the other matchups.

This is not one of Warren Central's deeper teams, typically only playing seven each game.  But Pulaski is one of the rare teams that cannot match even that, as it appears they go six deep.  Warren Central has tremendous length while not having necessarily someone super tall - they just happen to be 6'3"-6'5" across the board except for Villafuerte.  I've seen the roster heights for Pulaski, and among the guys who play, they seem to be just an inch or two shorter.  So I don't necessarily think that they are truly mismatched physically, but I really can't tell wingspan and length from film.  I agree though, Pulaski's best chance is controlling tempo, and a lower scoring game would likely be a good path for them.  Central is very, very good at speeding teams up.  Pulaski averages 71 a game - doesn't seem their style to slow it down.  Central's other big advantage, and one that from the sounds of it they'll likely have in this one, is rebounding. They rebound EXTREMELY well (#5 in the state), and I can't imagine that will not be the case here given that they'll have height advantages that they don't always have.

Pulaski is traditionally an uptempo squad in our area.  I thought they did a good job in regional championship “selectively running”.  It’s the most patient they have been to my knowledge this season, and shot selection was good.  They’ll need both those things to pull the upset off.
