There were 3-'A' schools in last years Sweet 16. Pikeville, Lyon County, and Murray. All 3 won their All 'A' Regional tournament last season. However, Lyon County was upset this year and did not get to play in the All 'A' State Tournament this season. I am sure that will be a huge goal next year. 

There is 3 in it this year again. Lyon County with their 2nd in a row, Martin County, and Breathitt County. Martin County was in the All 'A' State Tournament, but both Breathitt and Lyon were knocked out first round of their own All 'A' Region. 

He is a great shooter but I doubt the six two part. When he gets an athletic six four division one guard glued to him we`ll see if he can rise to the occasion.

How does he do in AAU against taller guards? I know Defense not all out in AAU but that would give you some indication.

It will be an interesting case but surely ALL those High Major coaches couldn’t be wrong could they?

Newport also is an “A” school. Lost 74-72 to Holy Cross in Regional final.

I believe Newport is also class A, at lease they are moving there next year in football.

They are, not sure how I forgot to mention them as I am just a little bit south of them LOL. They lost in the 9th Region All 'A' Regional Championship to Holy Cross in a classic game.

Recruiting misses happen all the time.  Devin Askew anyone?  We could make a list a mile long.  But, I want to appreciate Perry for the amazing high school player he’s been.  The college stuff will come later, and I hope the several posts in this thread making the point that if he goes to the right place and right situation he’ll succeed end up being exactly right.

Perry started as a 7th Grader where he played in 31 games, scoring 638 points.  Following his 8th Grade year he had played in 63 games and netted 1,490 points before Kelly Coleman had played his first high school game in his 127 game career..  Perry has now played in 160 games and benefitted 520 points from the installation of the 3-point arc.  He still has the remainder of this State Tournament and all of next year to continue to build on his record.  Comparing Perry with Coleman is very much Apples and Oranges.  However, since the category simply reads - Most Points scored in a career, Hail to the new All-Time scorer in the Commonwealth.

One of the things Perry mentioned post-game yesterday. I believe he said "he (Coleman) didn't have the 3-point line."

interesting list here. Who knows what’s accurate, when you’re trying to understand all time scoring leaders across the country, I’m sure it’s hard to get good precise info.  If this list is accurate, Perry could conceivably finish as high as number 2 all time, if he scores an amount in his senior year similar to his junior year.  The number 1 guy has 6,700+ points, which I suspect is out of reach.  ?

two interesting things I’m reading.  One, the “national federation of high school” (whatever that is), doesn’t recognize points scored before 9th grade.  And two, of the top 100 scorers, 30 are from one state - Louisiana.  Apparently, the smallest schools in that state, class b and c, don’t play football.  Which means basketball starts in October, so they’ll have 70 or 80 game seasons.
