I'm with you.  I would say Sam Parrish from GRC would be primary defender.  He is a sleeper not many talk about.  Stud.

Morton got be the one defending him imo. From a competitive standpoint you have to because you have something to prove. Two best players basically same position you got matchup. Motto was last year tourney MVP and Reed is consider by most best player in the state and going to UK.

  • Having observed what happened last year, here's my primary issue with what they've done when they swapped back: they changed the times of the semis and the finals on Saturday. Prior to their move

Presuming they do not get upset in the Regional Tournament, Warren Central looks to have gotten a pretty nice path to the championship.  The bottom half of the bracket is loaded.

And a possible 7th vs. 11th quarterfinal looks interesting as well.  Have to be excited if you're a Warren Central fan.  Real nice draw.

absolutely. His length allows him to get into passing lanes pretty easily. He's so quick!

Not disagree with you but Morton should want this matchup considering he’s there best player.

I think a better question is if Sheppard will guard Morton?

Theses teams both have designs on the big trophy. Can either Coach afford to put their best player on the other teams best and possibly get their own star in foul trouble?

Can't afford to, and they won't.

Woodford ranked too low in this man’s opinion.

No team in the State has improved as much as they have with McNear returning. If they keep defending like they did the last two games it’s hard to see them not playing on Saturday

Not saying he won't some, but they won't wear any one individual out knowing Cook the way I do.  They will also run extra defenders at him.  Cook has always utilized the run and jump defense anyways.

J'town wins traditionally one of the hardest regions, and is rated 13th?  I don't know anything about J'town, but I'd imagine they would athletes to match up with WOFO.

I thought the exact same thing.  No respect for the 6th Region winner.

Not so fast!

Love Jtown and what they have accomplished under Coach Duncan these past two seasons.

WOFO is a different team with McNear and will lock down defensively to gain the victory.

Newport/Lyon County is going to be really interesting.  For a young team Newport has shown nice pace and defensive discipline in stretches.  They are also extremely athletic at all 5 spots. Scrolling through the Lyon County schedule, I don't see anyone that will challenge them athletically like Newport.  I also won't claim to know every team on their schedule very well.  Lyon county is an obvious contender and I don't think I'd put Newport in that same category , but I definitely wouldn't want to play them in a season-on-the-line game either.

I'm admittedly partial to the 9th, but am curious if anyone else has thoughts on this game or has seen both teams play.

I haven't seen WOFO live either.  It's just surprising to see the 6th region undersold so much.  I mean Western, PRP, Desales to name a few all spent time in the top 25 this season...

First blush: five very good games, one potentially solid game, two games that should be over early. Of course I'll probably be wrong on all of them!
