Final what a win for the Cats one of the best in several years. Hopefully this will be the start of a good run for the Cats and Cal sees this lineup as the one to go with going forward.

Watched the game with my dad today and unfortunately it was my dad's last one as he passed tonight. Dad was 86 and bled blue just as much as anyone I know. Taught me to love the Cats. Glad he got to w

  • One of the rare times I’ve watched a UK hoops game (we had company). Not pretty, but I thought high intensity throughout for the Cats.  Tennessee needs to put a lot more work into the layup line.

I agree with that last part. Wheeler needs to not be starting. Let him him be a guy that comes off the bench and maybe bring some energy when needed. However, the offense flows better, with better ball movement when he is not in. Plus allows you to have better shooters when he is not in. I do think he can play an important role on this team, but it needs to be coming off the bench as more of a spark plug when needed.

That was refreshing.

And why does the UT band play Rocky Top after a loss at the end of the game?

Big win for Kentucky, and one in which it wasn’t like they just buried Tennessee. The Vols tied it and took lead several times, but Kentucky was resilient. I’m glad I get to watch the replay of this one - I couldn’t bear to watch much. My superstition got the best of me.

Good win and great job by Cal today. Defense obviously played much better. Offense also played a lot better, with better spacing and movement against a very good Tennessee defense. Also players stepped up and actually made some shots today. Anytime Tennessee went on a little run or got within one, a player was about to make a shot for UK when needed. Just an overall good win.

Hopefully this is the type of win that gives them confidence to now get going and play like they should be capable of.

Go Big Blue! Go Cats!

Very gritty, grind it out ugly win but much needed and we will embrace it.

Congratulations Cats!

When I saw Wheeler wasn’t playing, I considered betting my mortgage UK would cover (wouldn’t have had the courage to go for the outright win :)).

Not to mention Wallace was laboring big time out there. And even at that the spacing was 10 times better.

Sad part about today is that they lost on Tuesday. You could have convinced yourself the Cats were just in the wrong place at the wrong time against Bama had they just taken care of business.

Hopefully Wheeler also saw how much better the offense flowed, when the ball wasn’t just being dribbled the whole time like he does. He could be very valuable off the bench, as long as he can figure out to move the ball and not try to do to much.

Hopefully that loss is what helped get this team to realize they had to change things up, and what helped get the win today.

Totally identify.  I am on my way to Lexington with a couch in the back of my truck and a box of matches in my pocket.
