I agree. Usually running clock scores are bad comparisons as a whole as each coach has a different philosophy on rotations, play calling, etc.... when they get to a running clock. Also, if a running clock starts in the 2nd quarter compared to the 3rd quarter, then that can have a significant impact on the score as well. Silly to compare those types of scores.

Tigerpride compared Ryle vs St X scores and Simon Kenton vs Ryle scores, equating to SK chances vs Trinity.  So Madden is just pushing buttons.

No doubt, Simon Kenton has a good offense, but when average giving up 29 pts. Per game, sooner or later, that will catch up to you in the playoffs.

I am glad no-one is talking about 9-1, Central Hardin. One of the best rushing attacks in the state and a great defense. Coach Mattingly described this bunch as having more heart, effort, and toughness than any team he has coached at Central Hardin. If you want to point to strength of schedule then look at common opponents that Central Hardin and Bullitt East has played and that should tell you something.

What’s your deal with Bullitt East?  Everything you seem to want to say about them is negative.  It gets old.  BE had a bad habit of playing to the level of their comp, which seems to have been resolved with their last district win over Male.  I guess we’ll see tonight.  And to use that argument of common opponents, most of the time is ridiculous.  Male beat Fern Creek by 50.  BE only beat Fern Creek by 16.  I guess Male takes BE to the woodshed then….oh but wait.  You had an earlier argument of “I talked to Meade County parents and asked who was better…”.  Seriously, that’s one of your arguments?!?!  You talked to parents?  If that’s the case, I spoke with a member of the Fern Creek football staff who said without doubt BE was the better team; quicker & more athletic.  That would hold more weight than talking to parents, right?  And yes, that conversation did happen.  Central Hardin has a good, solid team.  Unlike you, I will take nothing away from them.  No doubt they should walk into the 3rd round of the playoffs, where more than likely, they’ll have St X, but based on common opponents’ opponents, they should win.  St X beat Male by 11 & BE only beat Male by 7, so St X would beat East by 4, but BE only beat Fern Creek by 16, so St X would then only beat Fern Creek by 20 & Central Hardin beat Fern Creek by 37 so should be an easy 17 point win for Central Hardin against St X.  I’d do the same for Meade County, but I’m tired of typing at this point and it’s just ridiculous to begin with.

Tied for the best record in 6A and getting no respect, that's all. All you hear about is how good Bullitt East, Simon Kenton, Ballard, and Bryan Station are. How can a team be rated solely on strength of schedules to determine how good they are by computer metrics? Where is the human element? 

The only way Fern Creek scored was by way of a punt snapped over the head of the punter. They didn't come close to scoring on offense in that game.

Central Hardin is good team but lost to Henderson County who is best team on schedule. They will get opportunity to show case their team in 3rd round which will be a good opponent.

Of the theoretical top 15 teams in Class 6A, only George Rogers Clark (36-64) has a worse opponents' record than Central Hardin (37-63). I think Central Hardin has a very nice team but not all 9-1's are the same. Their best win is probably South Oldham or North Hardin, which pales in comparison to Bullitt East's win over Male. I suspect if both teams played it would be a close game; the gap definitely isn't wide enough to constantly disparage one over the other.

I always check out opponent records when comparing teams, just like you did. As you said, all 9-1's are not created equal.
