I was told by a mutual friend of mine and Coach Clevenger's that Danville would be the only job he would take.  I agree with Danville Fan's post, I think Peach is a good coach, but he walked into a hornet's nest.  Anderson County sure hasn't been the same since he was let go there.

If it's the same kids that I was hearing last week against Mercer County, Danville will be 0-10 next year.

That aside, I don't think Peach is a bad coach at all.  The problem, though, is he walked into a really divisive situation and that would be tough for anyone to manage.  And it's showing in the program/community.

Peach has no control over his team! They are getting worse week by week. I heard a kid missed a day of practice this week because he wasn't getting the ball enough, fast forward to tonight and the kid fumbles the ball away twice. Plus the kid never got punished for missing practice.

Right now I wouldn't take the Danville job if you paid me a million bucks a year. Especially with the baseball coach calling shots around the school and arranging for the administration to show Clevenger the door.

My question has always been, which makes the school and athletic department more money: baseball games or football games?

I thought the baseball coach resigned a couple of weeks ago.  Football definitely pays for a lot of other sports programs in the school

Didn't know the baseball coach resigned. That bodes much better for the future of other sports programs. And for the head coaches of those programs.

The Baseball Coach and the AD are gone! All the Clevenger haters are gone except the track coach. 

Peach is a good coach and even better guy but he wasn’t fully warned to what he was walking into. I hope he can turn it around!

How could he not know?  It was well known that the district was a dumpster fire.

He wasn’t warned that the previous staff would still be working in the district not leaving many positions for people he would like to bring in. 

There were at least 3 teaching vacancies from the previous staff that he could have used since one staff member and his wife ( math and special ed)  who taught in the high school were not renewed and went to another district and the offensive coordinator who taught in high school went across town. Maybe no one wanted to come to the dumpster fire!

Considering Peach was option #3, you aren’t wrong.
