BTW, I understand that this will be held at Henry Clay High School.

Apparently, the LCA turf is not ready yet (per last night's broadcast, and filtered through my iffy memory).

I don’t think LCA is quite as dominant as they were last year, but they are still a very good football team.

Belfry’s secondary is very young and there are some opportunities to get open against them.

If Belfry hangs on to the football they may string a few nice drives of ether and shorten the game, but at the end of the game LCA just has more seasoned experience at more positions.

LCA-35

Belfry-21

Big test for LCA. The Eagles gave the Pirates all they wanted in 2020 in Pond Creek with the Pirates pulling it out in the 4th qtr. In 2021 covid gave the win to LCA. Now the Pirates travel to LCA for the rubber match. Big test for both defenses. Can the Eagle defense stop the running attack of the Pirates? Can the Pirates stop the passing attack of the Eagles? Should be a great challenge for both teams and definitely a November prep game.

Shout out to @Bluto, who was on this 48 hours ago. You gotta love D&D "breaking" news two days late. ?

I think LCA would’ve probably put a running clock on them had they played last year. The question is has LCA slipped enough or has Belfry improved enough to give Belfry the chance to win. I’m going with the passing team by a couple scores. LCA 28-14.

I agree on last year.  Belfry was a pretty bad team early on and LCA was on another level.

This Pirate edition is much improved, even with the obvious absence of Mr Football Dixon.   They are a much more balanced team with more options and balance.  I don't know if they can beat LCA or not, but the young Pirates have shown a lot of ability and they have a ton of potential.  The inexperience in the secondary may be a downfall against LCA's passing attack.

I would not be shocked to see Belfry pull it out, but more than likely they are a 7-14 point underdog.

That is the score I had in mind for this one.

According to the Prepspin.com website they are going to stream this game:

I went to Prepspin, and they are not broadcasting the LCA/Belfry game.

They will broadcast the CAL at LCA game 9/9/22, and then the LCA at LexCath game on 9/16/22.

There is evidence to the contrary. Currently under the same lightning delay as CovCath/LexCath.

For some reason Prepspin is not as organized as usual.

It is raining here too.  Should be clear soon.
