Last year wasn’t as lopsided as the score indicated but this year may be different. Hopefully Elders graduation losses help the Colonels stay in the game.

I take most preseason projections with a grain of salt, but most of what I've seen about Elder suggests they're not expected to be a great, vintage Elder squad this year. Maybe on par with last season. Who knows, that might still be enough to handle CovCath, but I think a competitive game is within reach. And if it's up for grabs in the 4th quarter....

I love my Colonels, but they will have to play significantly better than they did last week to pull off the win.  

Elder's coach has emphasized this year to run the ball more since they only had 800 yards last year. He thinks they will be improved defensively over last year.

Barring a turnover and special team disaster for Elder, I have a hard time seeing this stay within two touchdowns. 

The two big things I’m looking for for Cov Cath are: 

1. Can CCH match their physicality on the line scrimmage? 

2. Can either of the QBs take control (my guess is both will play) and win the job outright as opposed to bouncing back and forth between guys. I think that’s really tough to juggle as a team if you want to be serious about competing.

I'd like to see the Colonels win this one, but their record against the GCL teams is not good.  Until they beat Elder, I have a hard time thinking they can.

Any No.Kentucky School against the GCL….mmmm. I don’t see it.
