Anyone recognize the final play that UNC tried to run, but Manek tripped?  That was something that Brad Stevens has ran a lot:

Had UNC found a way to convert and go on and win the game, you want to talk about an all time blunder with the out of bounds play that KU failed on. Yikes.

 

Help me out with the out of bounds play KU ran, turning the ball back over to UNC for the final shot with just under 5 seconds to go. The announcers were saying a minimum of .3 seconds must run off the clock if possession is established. Ok. But in watching the replay, the KU player caught the ball out of bounds, so how was possession technically established? Is this because he caught the ball cleanly?

Just one more thing they took from Kentucky this year. 

That was my first thought when they started making their run at the top of the second half.  I always felt the 10 points was kind of a weak record to begin with. 10 points is a solid 2 minute run a team goes on, or 15-5 run over a 4 minute stretch. 15 points seems more impactful. But to paraphrase from the great Tubby Smith: "Halftime scores mean absolutely nothing." He is right. Why we get caught up with them is kind of funny and speaks more so to human nature.

In re-watching it today, it looks like the guy was airborne a bit, so I stand corrected.

I was thinking it was his second step that he stepped out. So his first step after catching the ball he stepped out?

This year’s Kansas team is not part of any investigation and I was wrong to make my previous post. Congratulations to the Jayhawks on their national championship. Well deserved and they saved their best for the last of the season when it counts most.
