That’s not the proper protocol for building public relations between head coach and the public. Actually the public deserves better than this.

No they don't. This isn't the 1970s when the weekly radio show (who in the hell listens to the radio these days?) was your only access to a team's head coach. People care about winning, not the same weekly platitudes we get from Cal and other coaches. Let's be honest. The "PR" you want to see is a firing squad. You want Cal to "walk the plank" as part of his punishment for under-performing during the tournament.

  • As an aside, there would be no way in hell I would ever take phone calls from Kentucky fans. "Where's Richie?"

That is listed on Cal's contract as the nikeman49 clause.

Totally disagree 100% but that’s okay, difference in opinions is healthy.

Did you listen to the show this week?

If so, what wasn't addressed?  What question still needed asked?

I don't know why it matters of the questions come from Leach vs. Rich in Pikeville.  I thought it was a good listen this week and was refreshing to not have the call-ins.

No, I didn’t listen this week, but I can guarantee you that Leach carefully selected the questions that he wanted Cal to answer.

Maybe I'm crazy, but if I was doing a radio show, and I was going to be asking questions of my guest,  I'd also carefully select them as well.

Well I'll stop responding to round of debate, because if you didn't even listen to the radio show, you don't even know what you're complaining about this time lol

Didn’t have to listen to know what happened with questioning with Leach and Cal, very predictable situation and that’s why folks are down on Cal, never faces the music when it comes to criticism and Ky fans know that’s his game.

They are down on Cal because they lost. Had he come out and took ownership of everything (again) and taken a tongue lashing from Billy in Corbin, it would change nothing about the sentiments people have.

Sad to say but IMO many of "those fans" started to turn on Cal when he supported the players kneeling during the anthem before a game.

This is true.

Cal and Barnhart don’t get along do they?

I have heard people say this.  Why wouldn’t they get along?  Not asking you, just asking out loud.   Anyone who gives me a lifetime contract and paying me 9M a year is someone I want to be one of my closest friends.  Lol.

Not talking about that situation at all, I was addressing the coaching aspects of Ky basketball on the playing floor and Cal not wanting to answer to that.

If I remember right, there was something Cal did when he first came that rubbed Mitch the wrong way.  Maybe a website he started or something?  And I think they just don't mesh, if that makes sense.  DeWayne Peevy was always the one who dealt with Cal, but he's obviously not around anymore.

You mentioned "folks down on Cal" and that is who I was referring to.
