Covington Catholic 59 Lyon County 57 (Boys' Sweet 16® Quarterfinals)

I would say they will be back.

Two straight days I’ve watched a team call last timeout down by more than two and then go for a two - as if the coaches don’t know the clock doesn’t stop. I don’t get it. CovCath was likely to win anyway but Lyon County called a timeout that guaranteed it.

I want to know what @gchs_uk9 thinks about it?

The audible groan in the crowd when that timeout was called. It was like everyone realized immediately what happened. And it was over.

I mean the likelihood of winning wasn't great but that decision made it zilch. From my perch, I couldn’t believe it.

Ipsarro better get that ankle worked on immediately, gonna need him to accomplish what they want too.

I screamed it lol. Started running to the people around me telling them they just threw it away. I know it’s tough to know all situations but you’ve gotta know that one. GOT TO. Heck the timeout helps the other team communicate to their players do not touch anyone.

And seriously, if that player wanted to get the delay of game call he was seeking, he should have slapped that ball way away. The refs are too smart to give that call.

Player should’ve chucked that thing far outta bounds. But I don’t put it on the player.. cmon coach!

For sure - the mistake is on coach calling timeout. You have gotta know the rules.

Man, that's really stupid.  You have to know better than that.

Still, seems like a great battle!
