The Lyons had a landmark win in their first Sweet 16 game since 1951, beating John Hardin 82-65. Travis Perry had 26 points and 5 assists, while Brady Shoulders and Jack Reddick combined for 7 steals.

Not to be outdone, Cov Cath point guard Evan Ipsaro also had 26 points and 5 assists of his own in the Colonels' 76-65 win over the Ashland Tomcats.

Tipoff between these two is Friday at 6pm.

CovCath wins 74-67.

Lyon County, is a real sleeper they have some very good players.

 

Lyon County is more than a one trick pony, but I haven't been this juiced about a player since 2017. Will the young "King" in waiting carry the Lyons to the semis like "The Jake!" Ohmer did for Scott HS?

I think Cov Cath will have the athletes to defeat Lyon County. They will defend them a little better than they are accustomed to being defended.

The worst thing in the world for Lyon County is that CovCath played Holy Cross twice and are used to having to defend a high-volume, super-talented guard who can really fill it up.  I think seeing Jake Meyer twice will really help them, while they aren't exactly the same player, how you want to defend them in groups will serve them well.

I think CovCath is up 8-10 at half and wins by around 20.
