Congrats to the Lady Raiders and Coach Haitz. Gutty comeback win when they could have given in when down by 12. A “Bengal-esque” comeback win for the Orange and Black! Great season by NDA, one of the top teams in Kentucky for sure.

Tough loss for the Pandas. Congrats to the Raiders.

Abby Holtman was amazing.  

 

Sarah Baker made several big freebies.

Quinn and Austin did all of the little things.  Once Ryle settled in and beat the press, this went the other way quickly.  

Congrats to Pandas on a great season.

Gutty performance  by the Lady Raiders.  NDA had them where they wanted them, and could not close them out.  Credit Ryle's defensive effort, a few key shots by Holtman, and they were able to some how wrestle away the momentum.  They kept their composure and The Panda's kind of lost theirs.  Not what you have expected in the fourth quarter.  Great win.

Where does this rank in terms of recent upsets? This one sent shock waves across the state...but is it REALLY that big of an upset? One that is for the ages? Curious what some of the girls hoops experts think.

Doesn't seem like a big upset to me. Two very good teams. Games like this are usually decided by a mistake or two at a key point. Ryle has played in a bunch of games like this one in the past few seasons.

Upset? Yes. A huge unthinkable upset? Not at all. While many people probably thought Notre Dame would win, I don’t think many people are shocked though either that Ryle won. 

NDA had them with 3 min to go and instead of just moving the ball around and eating the clock they seemed to take quick shots. They were not winning the rebound battle and Holtman caught fire. 
I think NDA was a better TEAM but Ryle unfortunately outplayed them when it mattered. 

Fun watching the NDA seniors and I am sad it is over for them.  Bright future for the Pandas with some good young talent. This year had the makings of a nice run for the Pandas but it wasn’t in the cards.
