This is an upset, right?

Yes.  Especially on the heels of a fully stocked Birds' squad beating Brossart by 10.  Bellevue has been solid against smaller competition, but this is a HUGE leap in class.

When did Bellevue last beat Highlands in girls' hoops?  Has to have been the 70s or 80s, right?

I see that Bellevue beat Bishop Brossart during the 2017-18 season, which was Bellevue's first ever win over the Lady Stangs in girls' basketball.  With that nugget, could this be their first ever win over Highlands in girls' basketball?

Congrats to Coach Sorrell, he has done a great job down there with NKAC Division III Titles, and now this win to put up on their mantle.  Sports are fun.

Really happy for Tommy and the Lady Tigers. He works hard and does a nice job with the program. Should be 2 seed in district??

It is truly the "Year of the Tiger!"

Bellevue will be the 2 seed in the district. Newport and Highlands play tomorrow for the 3rd seed.

This is the biggest regular season win in the Sorrell Era, displacing that win over Brossart.

Now if Highlands wins Friday, it will be a real interesting rematch in the district tournament (also at Bellevue).

I know @The Double Deuce told me early in the year I will have to be patient with these Birds.  Wasn't until this past Monday when I watched the Bishop game via @859Radio that I realize just how young this Birds squad is.  It was like first 2 players off the bench were 8th graders (1 of them being the great Camron Mills niece!), then you have Marisa Green as a Freshmen and then Laney Smith as a Soph.  Birds will be tough but it is going to take some time.

Great win by Bellevue.

So why was story on CC Shick?

A'h, I see. CC Shick is a player. My bad.

I guess this is how you get beat by a team for the first time in a couple of generations, you shoot 28.8%, which includes 2 of your starters Gessner & Smith going a combined 2 for 20 from the field.....one of those days!!!:
