Auburn 80 Kentucky 71

Final the Cats put a good fight but just to much with Washington out and Wheeler missing most of the 2nd half plus another terrible game from Brooks as well. Next up for the Cats is Mississippi State on Tuesday at Rupp.

Hard fought game, time to que up the annual “what Pearl could do at Kentucky.”  Unreal how far he’s taken Auburn as a program.

Oscar as good as he is, reminds me of the tall kid who’s team went to a different city and played against a kid taller than him for the first time.

It is what it is. I expected an Auburn win, and they’re a good team. It is unfortunate that Kentucky has lost a pair of games that I think can be laid directly at the feet of injuries. But it happens. Let’s hope Washington isn’t out long.

I think Kentucky is better than Auburn by a little bit when fully healthy.  Take Away TYTY and Sahvir then that's a different story.

A fully healthy Kentucky team still has a good shot to win it all. Wheeler and Washington are must-have players.

Even with all that happened today the Cats still had 4 more FG's than Auburn the difference was Auburn was +16 in makes from the FT's. The Cats in the loss still shot 50% from the floor and 42% from 3.

Auburn shot 57% from the floor and outscored UK by 16 at the foul line. That loss was on UK's defense.

UK shot 50% from the floor.

Part of the Defense is Sahvir and TyTy. We play a  lot better defense with them in as well.

Oscar 7-12 from the floor, 16 points and 14 rebounds. He worked for all of that but he got his.

He did. If anything I wish he had about 5-6 more shots on the books. Wheeler, while solid, is not good at feeding him in the post. When the O goes through O, good things happen. I’d like to see some more pick and roll action with them two.

True. I am putting some of the blame on Cal. He never changed how UK defended that high pick and Auburn abused UK with that play.

Yeah, I don’t see laying anything at Oscar’s feet.
