As a former mayfield football player, I always said that alot of the kids didn't take weightlifting seriously. I've noticed over the past few years that mayfield always look undersized the further we get into the playoffs. Alot of that has to do with the players not taking their bodies seriously. The game of football has advanced so much in the past 20 years. Part of the game is making sure you're in the weightroom and putting the right things in your body.

I've met a few talented kids from mayfield that don't like lifting or taking their bodies seriously. Johnathan Jackson was a nightmare for beechwood and bunch of teams because he lived in the weightroom. I can say the same about Kade neely. Those guys basically slept in the weightroom. Speed only takes you so far, you have to be strong also.

Always remember one thing, it takes one person to trigger a movement. I know alot of mayfield people didn't take to kind to that remark. I know that doesn't represent the whole fanbase but it still wasn't something we took to kind to.

Are you referring to the post early in this thread by someone who has nothing to do with Beechwood and doesn't even live in N.Ky?

BW broadcast “ Mayfield looks a like a 2A team and Beechwood looks like a 5A team” not sure class rank has any correlation as to how big your team is or looks but has nothing to do with the price of corn IMO. Middlesboro O line average was 6’3 265 and you see what that got them. Western KY 2A football is not on the level of central and northern KY programs. LCA would run clock Mayfield in the first half just like they did Murray last year.

I think you may have interpreted that incorrectly. I think the broadcaster was referring more to the quality of play and roster, NOT the actual size of the players themselves. JMO

I thought the best burger of the night was going to be the I got from the concession stand.  Until I saw Mitchell run for 189.  He was my x-factor in the pregame, but holy cow he's a strong running.

The best!  Nothing like a burger that hangs over the bun by two inches.  And made with extra care by Frank Hicks, and as always, taken care of my my favorite concession worker of all time Rachelle Noah.  Sad it was too cold for Hailey, as she's always the highlight of any trip to Beechwood.

As far as we know he's a beechwood fan. I'm not taking anything away from those kids. They deserved that win and I hope they beat LCA
