It's about being comfortable for me.

When I first started carrying, I actually carried with an empty clip several times to get used to having it on me. I'm obviously well beyond that now and always carry locked and loaded, but if I'm not comfortable, I'm going to do something to fix it.

Sounds like you are training yourself well.  You have to condition your mind and your muscle memory.

Did I hear the report right, was there a live bullet in the gun that Baldwin used?  If so, there mostly certainly should be some criminal charges.  Against who is to be determined but man is that true?

It’s these tiny little microscopic mindsets that can avoid disaster with a pistol.  For an ND or catastrophic accident to happen, a lot usually goes wrong.

Yes, that’s why I said nobody must have checked it including Baldwin.  I’m still not saying it’s his fault.  Very few actors are real gun guys, like Keanu Reeves, or Michael B. Jordan.  It was probably the 100th time someone handed Baldwin a gun and he went through his normal motions.

I’m only spit balling but if I had to guess.  It was likely a pistol and the magazine was removed or emptied but the chamber never cleared.  Me personally, I wouldn’t let someone handle a gun around me as a prop without visually clearing it myself.  
 

Such an easily preventable tragedy. 

I just read an article about the incident.  It stated that the project being filmed is supposed to take place in the 1880’s and that the gun may have been a single action revolver.

Per the Dailey Mail:

The crew on Alec Baldwin's movie set were already concerned about gun safety before he accidentally shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, and the prop master in charge of the firearm that killed her had reportedly just joined the crew after a union walkout.

Unionized workers had walked off the set hours before the fatal shooting, after they complained about long hours, shoddy conditions and another safety incident days earlier involving 'two misfires' of a prop weapon. 
 

And the yet-unnamed prop master who oversaw the gun used in the fatal shooting was a nonunion worker who was 'just brought in' to replace the workers who left over safety concerns, a source involved in the movie told the New York Post. 

Sounds like the “original gun guy/s” felt so insecure about their safety they left.  When the real “gun guys” leave due to safety concerns, it’s time to put the guns up…

I’ve read a couple articles since my initial post.  Sounds really bad initially in terms of just about everything. I’m sure their will be lawsuits, rightfully so.  But also, Baldwin is done.  I can’t see a way that you can be anti gun and then accidentally kill someone with one.  Once upon a time he could champion gun safety etc and maybe survive this but I don’t think that’s happening in today’s climate. 
 

With that said, nothing would surprise me nowadays.
