I’d agree. Even with the previous HC their were years where they didn’t come out of the gate hitting on all cylinders. I think we’ll know more about Trinity once they play Male and St. X.

I agree and there have been years where Trinity lost some games but they were still a great football team.  Trinity plays an elite schedule, losses go with the turf.  One thing is for sure, the Rocks will be battle tested.

I think most in the T community knew this would be a tough year with the loss of 21 starting seniors and senior and junior classes that were not felt to be strong based on results at the Frosh and JV levels.  Compound that with a tough out of state schedule and this is what could happen. 

I predicted 3-7 regular season before the season started with a chance, if the young kids developed, to still be a threat when it counts.

When they go 2 years in row without a State Title.

I don’t think a dynasty coach ever retired the year the team is going to be world beaters. Give the new guy some time. 

Can you say Mike Glaser? It’s been 11 years…..

I am still sitting here concerned....while it's elitist to say, sitting at #3 doesn't sit well with me.  We have numerous examples in front of us, where things haven't righted yet....  see Highlands after Mueller, and X post Glaser.

If we don't figure out the offense, not only will it impact this year.  It will have an impact for years to come.

As an outsider looking in I agree.

I have been out of Chicago for 7 years, but I am well aware of St. Rita. One of the stalwarts of the old Catholic League Blue Division, now a part of the Catholic League/East Suburban Catholic Conference. They are an all-boys school on the south side of Chicago, competing for students with Mt. Carmel, mainly, but also with Brother Rice, and even co-ed Marist. 

Year in and year out, one of the best teams in Illinois. 

FYI—Update….

St. Rita (11-2) will play Wheaton North in the 7A Championship Saturday afternoon at 4:00. The two regular season losses were to Chicago Catholic League rivals Mt. Carmel (16-9)  and Loyola Academy (37-7).

Illinois 7A Championship

Wheaton North 35 St. Rita 6

Catholic schools win 4A (Joliet Catholic) and 5A (Fenwick), and lose 7A.  Publics win the rest (two publics in remaining 8A game).

The Public/Private debate will be calm for another year.
