Dixie's sophomores?  I thought Dixie had a full freshman team for the first time in years.

They have had a few sophomores play freshman all year from my understanding. So I don’t believe Highlands played much of a different Dixie team than any other freshman team has played when they played them this year.

I watched them play Cooper and they had some Sophomores.

Thanks all!  I thought they finally had a full freshman squad this year and were no longer doing that "freshmore" team.  I guess not.

They had what appeared more Soph's dressing than they did Frosh. Highlands was told about 10 Soph's were playing but it looked like about 16-17. About 30 kids dressed for the game last night. Highlands has I think 33 Frosh and 2 8th graders playing in 2021. Highlands held their own last night and were able to hold Dixie late in the 4th and forced them to punt. HHS got the ball back with a little over 2 mins to go with no T.O.'s. Started from their own 40 or 45 and drove to the 4 yard line and Scored with a TD pass from Haas to Arnold with 9 seconds to go. Sounded like it was a great game. Highlands was down 24-14 in the 4th quarter at one point. Highlands gets my Vote for #2 in NKY this year.

You can eyeball a kid and make out whether they're a freshman or sophomore? ?

Guessing they had different jerseys. You’d know if Highlands had sophomores playing as well. Totally different.

The freshman have plain helmets and the sophomores have decals on them.

I just like the mental picture of @BirdDaddy sitting on his front porch passing out trick-or-treat candy with BirdMommy on Sunday, watching kids go by one by one and saying:

"That's a 14 year old."
"That's another 14 year old."
"That kid's 15-1/2."
"He's 14."
"She's 15."
"That's another 15 year old."

Yeah about 30 to 35 kids is about the same amount of kids they have had dressed for the majority of their games this year. People need to remember some of their freshman also play JV, and a few freshman I  believe may do some special teams with the Varsity. So some of their true freshman also will have decals on them since they may dress JV or Varsity. So most likely Highlands literally played basically the same Dixie team with sophomores, that every freshman team has played this year. 
 

Which it sounds like a great and exciting game. Dixie has had quite a few games that have come down to the very end.

If Dixie told highlands it was 10 kids, let’s assume it was 10 kids. That’s a lot for a freshman game. I doubt they’ve been playing as a froshmore team all season and this is the first anyone has heard of it. Sounds like there were more than usual. Have they notified all the other teams they played and said hey just a heads up, we have 10 sophomores playing?

They had at least 10 when Beechwood played them. It sounds like the same Dixie team everyone else has played this year.
