Mississippi State 74 Kentucky 73

Final. Tough loss the first half was the difference. Great play call could not get a better look. The Cats finish at 9-16 one of the worst in history. The Cats lead 71-66 with 3:21 to play and was outscored 8-2 to close out the game. The Cats scored on a Sarr jumper at 1:19 to play that was the only points to close it out. At least 2021-22 has to be much better. Go Cats!!

Well, from what I read in the game thread it sounds like the thing I said was this team's biggest problem all season long did them in today. They are the weakest UK team I have ever seen.  No inside game at all on either end of the court.

Got the look you want at the end, shame for Allen that he couldn't knock it down.  Allen played really well today and looked good cutting without the ball.

Guess we can be glad this season is over and man what a typical way for that game to end after this season.

So soft.  I'm not going to miss watching Olivier Sarr.

No fault to Allen - he got a good, clean look, and he was the only reason they were in that game in the first place.  But I frankly despise a play clearly designed to get a deep three when you're down only one.  I want a shot from closer in.

However, the previous possession was where the loss was earned IMO.  Up one, with the ball, and the shot you got is a Sarr three from the wing.  Again, you have to get inside, and if not, you better find a way to get the hot hand the shot.  Is what it is though - this team was not going to win the SEC in the first place.

Time to get to rooting against Kansas in every single game if you want Kentucky to hold onto the lead in all-time wins.

NIT anyone?

I don't think so especially with there only being 16 teams this season instead of the normal 32.

Kentucky lost four games this season by a single point, winning none by that margin.  They were 2-6 in games that were decided by three points or less.  They weren't a good team, but they also had some pretty poor luck.  Or, to look at it a different way, they didn't make their own luck.

They don't deserve it and I'd rather this miserable season just end.

Came out soft in the first half. Played much more physical in the second half. Allen with a great game, and had a great look. Just unfortunately it didn’t go in.

Typical for 20-21 and Kentucky basketball this is the first time in 59 years of the SEC tournament that Kentucky is not one of the last 8 teams remaining in the tournament.?

I thought I heard that teams had to have a .500 record to qualify for the NIT, not certain.
