KHSAA meeting 12/10

This is the KHSAA "Cash Cow". Does Billings not know that no one will be in the stands if it's held late March or early April? Moving it back would have been the smart thing to do and make adjustments with other sports. There won't be many games this year. The decision was absolutely horrible.

So why should basketball get backed up even further?  Ohio and Indiana are playing and their numbers are higher than Kentucky.  All of this mask wearing is not doing anything to curb the numbers.  Let

Were there any other decisions made in regards to game attendance limits and other precautions that must be undertaken, etc.?

Negative. Going to defer to health officials.

The problem is there wasn't many options and moving to late April would devastate spring sports again.  Evan late March is pushing it back two weeks.  The boys championship is usually March 15-18ish.  Moving it to mid April would take a month from spring sports assuming everything was adjusted the same amount of time.  Based on last year's schedule it would cost baseball about 15 of their 30 games after losing an entire season.

I wonder if the NCAA recruiting live periods in April had anything to do with decisions made by Board Members? If any even remembered about this. I would think teams would lose some top players to go play in the AAU certified events vs. State Tourney.

Playing the State tourney early leaves the live periods open for kids, for now.

@Mustang, didn't you tell me that the BOC meeting on November 18th was supposed to be Mike Clines' last Board Of Control meeting? Clines is sitting in on the meeting again today, and he hasn't been an employee of the Diocese of Covington since like September.

I realize he was elected by the private schools in regions 9-16 their one representative to the BOC, but if he is no longer employed by any of those school districts, is it right that Clines is sitting in as a voting member on the BOC?

As I understand it, Mike has been asked to simply fill that seat, without casting a vote, until they can find a replacement, probably through December 31st.

He did not cast a vote in today's balloting,  IMO he will be a great loss to the Board of Control.  He lives in the community and has kids who attend and play sports at our high school.   He always seemed to be the voice of reason, among a chaotic and sometimes self-serving board.

You cannot make decisions in a vacuum, much to the dismay of Mr. Tackett and you apparently.  Cash Cow or not, there are dozens of other factors that had to be considered and, thankfully, were.
