December 15, 200619 yr Get bashed by the same people bashing Tubby...Remember, Ricky P is a masterful recruiter and UK had no chance to win a NC if not for his recruits and if Ricky P can't keep a player instate over UT, what does that say about his recruiting ability... It doesn't say anything about his recruiting ability, it just says something about Lofton and I think you just answered your own question. Lofton dreamed to play for Kentucky and never got the offer, so as a life long Kentucky fan why would he go to their biggest rival? Still yet, if he wanted to be in state it wasn't Pitino's recruiting ability because he had a guy committed by the name of Telfair, you may remember him. These two reasons are why Lofton is in Tennessee, not anything about Ricky P keeping anyone in state.

What about the logic or facts of no final 4s with players Tubby recruited himself??? You are right, it won't change anyone's opinion of that simple fact. Obviously, Tubby's winning percentage is better with Pitino's players than his own... It's also amazing that the argument that only 25 teams have been to the final 4 since us is even relevant...if that makes you feel better, great. Doesn't do much for me. What's the message, if you fail to reach your goals, point out that other people aren't reaching their goals???

He was supposed to be a walk on last year. I don't think that he ever dressed for what ever reason. IMO walk ons are just that, an extra body to be used during practice. I don't think that I would include walk ons with the list of recruits used to bash a coach.

December 15, 200619 yr Ravi Moss was on the first list... And I didn't make that list. I wouldn't judge any coaches recruiting ability based on walk ons. Sometimes you get lucky (as with Moss or Mills) but most of the time you are getting a practice player.

The message is that the expectations are unreasonable. There are only 7 programs with multiple Final Four appearances in that span and only 3 with more than 2. Out of the 25 teams that have reached the Final Four in that span all but 6 of the schools have missed at least one ENTIRE NCAA tourney. No program can live up to the expectations of the UK faithful. Here's a good one for the Tubby bashers. Ask yourself, which programs would you consider more successful than UK over the last 9 seasons. Now realistically, which of the coaches of the programs you consider superior to Tubby could UK get to come coach there. Pretty short list huh?
