How would Beechwood do if Hergott did not play in a game?  It certainly would be a huge loss for Beechwood.  As big a loss as it would be I don't think Beechwood would get beat like that by Corbin without Hergott. Beechwood's defense is too good to see a score like that.

Hergott is a big contributor to the offense. But I think they’d still be able to score points. Win? I’m not sure but I think they could score points definitely.

I wonder about that. They have struggled running the ball. Who would be the QB if Hergott were out? Do they have a backup who can throw the ball?

So I'm trying to figure out -- is it possible there are just that many "not very good" teams in NKY this year or are the Tigers THAT good?

I'm beginning to think they indeed are THAT good. 

I believe that Beechwood is that good.

I’m a little surprised at this result, not too much. I figured Beechwood would win this pretty easily, which says how good they are because Newport Catholic is a good team.

Pangallo goes in during their running clocks, but I don’t think he would be the quarterback if an emergency would happen. That’s not a knock towards Nazario, but I just think he wouldn’t be the QB if anything crazy happens. My guess is O’Shea. He warms up with QBs and played QB during JV games and started QB for freshman until he eventually got pulled up last year. I think Rash sees playing him in running clock time as just a risk as playing Cam. Not to mention O’Shea starts DT. That would be my guess.

Hergott finished with 3 more TD passes, one each to junior wide outs Brady Moore, Parker Mason, and Liam McCormack. He now has 17 touchdowns on the year against only 3 picks. Oh, and he also added his 7th rushing TD of the season early in the contest. 

Sophmore breakout superstar RB/WR/ATH Mitchell Berger added his 4th rushing TD of the season in the first half (he now has nine on the year - 5 through the air, 4 on the ground). Junior tailback Bomani Hughes scored the only TD of the second half on a 5 yard scamper. The score was Hughes' first varsity TD.

I know there was some chatter in the update thread about seeing Beechwood against the top 4 in AA. I really believe they're absoluely in the top four already and, along with LCA and Mayfield, in the top tier of AA. The thing about this team is there is SO MANY WEAPONS for Hergott to choose from. He has five capable WR's (Moore, Berger, McCormack, Mason, Keaton Durrett) and a stable of backs that call ALL catch out of the backfield. 

Really fun team to watch. I think they can do some real damage. They're just more dynamic than they were last season. Can't wait to see - hopefully/fingers crossed/prayers - what the rest of the season holds. 

Very good NCC team?  Please change my mind.

This Beechwood team is Loaded. And all I read on here early this year was worry about line. How bout them boys in the trenches? Seems to be a non issue now that playing 5A/6A Teams is over. I’m feeling a big run, COVID allowing for course.

A team should always look to get better. If we are going to look for an area Beechwood needs to improve, it is running the ball and the offensive line has to own that. Their best running threat is Hergott scrambling. They have one running back with more than 100 yards on the season. That is Courtney with 192 yards rushing for the year.

They are working on it. That is why the opening drive of the game last night was run after run. They were trying to make that running game work. They just dominated their long time rival 45-0 so it is nitpicking to some extent, but I think the offensive line still has work to do in building a running threat in the offense.
