Defense and special teams carried the team tonight.

IMO,  the offense under Beatty comes along more slowly.

Once they hit their stride- look out.  This team will be special!!

Trinity starts 11 seniors on defense and have other seniors as back ups that contribute. Can’t say I’ve ever seen that kind of depth in one class before.

It looks like STX still hasn’t recovered from the Wil Wolford fiasco. Maybe next year things will start to be more competitive between the 2 programs.

Several Juniors and Sophomores played for X. X  Senior class not very deep. At one point when O-lineman was injured a freshman played.

Trinity held the Tigers to 48 yards offense-----57 passing and  -9 rushing.   The Shamrocks also held Male to negative yards rushing.

Trinity is just head and shoulders better than everyone one this year. Doesn’t look like there’s much anyone can do to be competitive with them.

If my understanding is correct, after this class graduates, T will be coming be to Earth.  Is that what you hear?

Coach Wolfords last 2 years at St X they were in the state semi's and played in the state finals.  They are now 3 years into a new coaching staff.  The one thing that hasn't changed is the coaching staff at Trinity.

They’ll return Armon Tucker but will lose 20-21 starters so will be rebuilding but Beatty does good job of developing players so we’ll see.

I go to almost every freshman, JV, and Varsity games so I know the talent level pretty well and if they aren’t good next year and the year after then serious questions will need to be asked of coaching staff. The current senior class doesn’t have much depth. As Freshman 3 years ago they were smoked by Trinity twice and lost to Manual. I hope the young players improve to where by end of season we’re second best 6A team.

You win with seniors in HS football. This group of seniors at X was the last group of freshmen WW brought in. When the HC resigns the week after playing in the state championship game in 2017, how much effort do you think was made in getting out and “encouraging” 8th graders to come to STX?  When you know you won’t be coaching the next season why worry about the incoming freshmen class. STX is now paying the price this season but the future looks bright. 

St. X has not won a state championship since 2009. It’s not fair to put it all on Wolford.  Mike Glaser was there for 3 more years after that and couldn’t get it done. Now Wallace is in his third year and hasn’t done much. 

Continuity & tradition is what keeps Trinity at the level they are. STX has the tradition but at this time, not the coaching continuity. I’m sure most level headed people at STX realized it was going to take Wallace a few years to get things back on the right track. Next year’s team at STX will be players that came to STX during the Wallace era. Maybe the coaching continuity has begun. 

On the outside it seems like it should be easy, but what some don’t realize is just how much the program feel apart during the Wolford era. The commitment level was not there, which in return has taken Coach Wallace a couple years to reestablish. From 2010 on there has been a big discrepancy in overall talent. It appears starting in 2021 the talent level will begin to level out. 
 

Most realistic St. X fans knew how this year was going to go, but we’re hoping that maybe the juniors and sophomores could fill in the gaps enough to close the gap between them and Trinity and Male. But Trinity this year is just too much for anyone in the state to handle. Tigers just have to keep working on getting better each day and see what happens when November rolls around.

The practice intensity, lack of physicality, and game intensity of the current program at St. X are embarrassing, especially on offense. Granted, Trinity is the more experienced and more talented team this year. But there is no excuse to have -9 yards rushing in a game. There is also no excuse to go 4-22 in the passing game when your head coach is supposedly a passing expert.

There is a difference in talent level between the two programs. But not as much difference I showed him the game. I am actually a lot more disappointed in the results of the Bowling Green game but I am of the Trinity game.  We shall see what the Tigers are made of this week against Manual.
