Being the first game and not a lot of live situations leading up to this game, a big factor will be special teams as stated earlier, and tackling. Can both defenses make tackles to limit a 3 or 4 yard again into turning into a 20 or 30 yard gain?

I think this is a good call LTR.  I watched a piece of the Navy vs BYU game last night and the Navy defense just couldn't tackle most of the game.  Was BYU a better team - Yes.  But I think the lack of tackling really played into BYUs hands.

The same could be said for this game.  The team that wins limits those big chunk plays the best with better tackling.

And BG is in good shape in the kicking game as their punter (Burwash) is one of the best they have had in years and SO Colin Fratus I'm told have a "high kicker rating".  I took that to mean outside of a offensive or defensive player rating and exclusive for kickers.  But execution will be important for both.

Coach Wallace made a point in the district outlook in the Courier Journal; he mentioned practice in any type of normal sense has been very difficult and this Friday could be ugly for many teams. It will be interesting to see how all teams perform this weekend, and I'm sure coaches are more stressed and nervous heading into this first week than any other first game in years. 

It may be ugly, but I'll take ugly football over no football any day of the week! Good luck to both teams!

With Tigers returning 4 starters on O-line and Poolers arm, I see them airing it out a lot. I see BG trying to take advantage of St.X defense inexperience up front with their returning running back. I’m sure they will try and get some mismatches with Dingle against the new line backers. One key player on St.X defense will be CB Anthony Woods. He runs a legit 4.4 40 and one of top 2 triple & long jumpers in the state. With lack of practice for both teams, I can see turnovers being a factor.

Good information 94!  It just keeps becoming a taller task for BG.

But I'm thankful they get to play.

@Tigerpride94 I know St. X football said they will be broadcasting their home games for free via the NFHS Network, but as of today, their NFHS Network page doesn't look like they have anything scheduled aside from their away game at Douglass, an away JV game and a couple of away freshman games that have been posted by their hosting teams. Is St. X still a go for NFHS live streams?

They say it will be on NFHS but being new it might not get uploaded until closer to game.

Like the majority I like the Tigers in this one too.

That's not even the official radio broadcast. If you want the Facebook video broadcast feed with official radio broadcast it will be on D93 WDNS Facebook.

Another day closer. It feels like Christmas Eve!

BG are always competitive so I think St X wins but I don’t expect a blowout.

To be quite honest I think familiarity is key in most regular season games, and these two know each other about as well as anybody. 
This yearly game almost feels like a rivalry at this point. A game most look forward to every year. A ton of pride given, coaching trees connected everywhere, and just all out grit on the field for the players. I’m excited to watch.
