MJAlltheWay24
Let's hear some of your movie hot takes. I will start with one, The Princess Bride is not very good. Just watched it for the first time and don't see why so many love it. Maybe had I watched it 20 years ago it would be something I'd appreciate more. I'd take Never Ending Story and several others over this one.
PP1
You said "Hot Takes" and then talked about a movie that you don't even like. One word for this, "INCONCEIVABLE!"
Tones
There have been less than 5 really good movies since 2000 that have won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
bugatti
The Rewatchables Podcast affirmed it for me: Daniel LaRusso deserved what he got from the Cobra Kai crew.

GrantNKY
There have been less than 5 really good movies since 2000 that have won the Academy Award for Best Picture. The Academy simply views movie differently than the majority of people do. Most people want to be entertained by a movie. The Academy doesn’t use that same criteria. GrantNKY
My hot take: 1917 was just an ok movie. Didn’t think there was anything great about it.
Voice of Reason
Blazing Saddles is the most overrated movie of all time.

The Professor
A few boring or average movies that won Best Picture Oscars and shouldn’t even been nominated: How Green Was My Valley (1941, beat out Citizen Kane). The Greatest Show on Earth (1952, beat out High Noon). Around the World in 80 Days (1956, beat out The Ten Commandments). Chariots of Fire (1981, beat out Raiders of the Lost Ark). Gandhi (1982, beat out E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. The English Patient (1996, beat out Fargo). Shakespeare in Love (1999, beat out Saving Private Ryan). Moonlight (2016, beat out a host of better movies, namely La La Land).
GrantNKY
Blazing Saddles is the most overrated movie of all time. I don’t know if I would go that far. I mean I like Blazing Saddles. It’s funny at times, but basically every time I watch it now I just think about what the reaction would be if someone tried to make that movie in 2020. coldweatherfan
There have been less than 5 really good movies since 2000 that have won the Academy Award for Best Picture. I would say 7 2000 - Gladiator 2001 - A Beautiful Mind 2003 - Lord of the Rings: Return of the King 2004 - Million Dollar Baby 2005 - Crash 2006 - The Departed 2007 - No Country for Old Men Everything since was mediocre at best. Colonels_Wear_Blue
There have been less than 5 really good movies since 2000 that have won the Academy Award for Best Picture. I'd say six of them were really good: Gladiator - 2000 Crash - 2005 The Departed - 2006 No Country For Old Men - 2007 The Hurt Locker - 2009 The King's Speech - 2010 Nominated and didn't win but were "Best Picture - Worthy": Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - 2000 Traffic - 2000 Atonement - 2007 There Will Be Blood - 2007 Zero Dark Thirty - 2012 1917 - 2019

Also, I really think my vote for No Country For Old Men vs. There Will Be Blood would have come down to a coin toss.
