Where Have You Been Getting Take-Out From?

Behle Street by Sheli in Fort Mitchell is always a favorite and then China Star right behind my place.

Last night was Taco Tuesday at Mothers FL. Mrs. S got chicken tacos, I got beef, chicken, and fish. They ran out of black beans so Mrs. S got roasted broccoli and rice. I got roasted Brussel sprouts and rice. Mrs. S ordered a margarita and it came in one of those 16 ozs. Solo cups.

Friday before last, we got pizza from NY NY Pizzaria. Supporting the local businesses as much as we can.

MJ You've got a Chipotle coming soon to Alexandria.

It is going in where the Sonic is. Actually they are enclosing what was the outdoor seating area, and converting the main body for kitchen.

They will never get my first dime, but I know you younger guys like that sort of thing.

I did see that the city of Alexandria announced that yesterday. My wife was very pleased. I don't jump up and down for Chipotle but I do like it as a quick and can be somewhat healthy option.

Why don't you like them?

Why don't you like them?

I don't do Tex, Mex, Tex-Mex, Spanish, or anything that has anything to do with red beans and rice.

With all of the good stuff there is out there to eat, Taco Bell, the joint behind White Castle, and the outfit that replaced Ruby Tuesday's won't be getting my business.

I'm not a spicy food kind of guy, and I tried Pesto once, thinking it was Ranch Dressing and that was a bad experience.

I've made it 72 years without eating healthy. No need to start now.

I thought you might like it. I'd actually prefer they build a Fazoli's (cheap Italian) down where Harry's Diner once was. I think they would do a land-office business.

I make a lot of simple stuff like the Schnitzel shown above (pounded pork chops - breaded), served with Stouffers cheesy potatos and a side salad or soup and get by.

Picking up from a local Mexican place every Friday like clockwork.

We grabbed takeout from Pendleton Hills the other night. Pretty big menu from apps to burgers to steaks. I had the fried chicken and it was really good. Go for a round of golf in the afternoon and bring some food home for the family.

There more and more of us in the TBA, so I'll keep posting.

We ordered last night from Marina's Pizza & Pasta out in Westchase. They have the best Antipasta I've ever had; lettuce, prosciutto, salami, provolone, roasted peppers, olives, onions, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh tomatoes, stuffed peppers, artichokes. I usually get that and a side order of Italian sausage. Mrs. S loves their Linguini Alfredo with chicken.

Cooking roughly 5 nights a week with one night for leftovers and one night of takeout. Hit Knuck-N-Futz on Friday. Rafferty's last week. Mio's 2 weeks ago as we were in the first wave of the fundraiser.

I love eating out, but I'm having a lot of fun messing with some new recipes over the past month. Mrs GT made some banana walnut bread yesterday and I turned it into french toast for brunch. It was fantastic.

Saturday night I did my first curbside pickup. Daddy's Grill was running a NY Strip Steak special with key lime pie for dessert. You could also get a liter bottle of Copper Ridge Merlot, which Mrs. S absolutely loves, for $10. Great meal. The sad part is when I picked the meal up at 6:20 PM, I was the only one there. I love this restaurant. I hope they make it.

We have been doing take out at least twice a week. Trying to stay with local businesses. So far we have had Pee Wees, Ft. Mitchell Public House Camporosso’s, Barleycorns, Guru’s, Dixie Chili,, and Skyline. Most of those we have been to twice. Unfortunately, my waist line will verify that.
