Slone is for local control and says if we give it up now what happens in the future.  I agree with her. 

Now Slone is talking about giving specifics that have to be met.  So, she is for local control to a point. 

Slone is blaming parents for not keeping their children social distanced and masked.  She didn't say it that way but that is what she is saying.

Slone just keeps talking and talking and talking.

Slone wants to have a plan which has to mean more meetings and such.

Parental sacrifice is one common theme that I'm hearing among some of these folks who are on different sides of this issue.  If you want your kids to be able play, then you'll have to monitor them and restrict what they can do.

I believe it was Tackett who said that playing games is the top priority, whether there are cheerleaders or bands or parents/fans, etc.  I wonder if that will ruffle some feathers.

Young wants the comments from today to be sent to the KHSAA for additional options for high contact fall sports.

 

Was it just me or did anyone else feel like nobody wanted to take responsibility in any of this other than the KHSAA?  The superintendents talking about needing guidance, etc.  I thought that's what they were paid to do is be leaders and help set policy and guidelines.  Am I missing something?

They might not have to?  That shocks me.

Everyone is voting Yes and Alvis Johnson asked for a clarification on what they are voting for.  I am glad he did.

The motion is for the KDE to send the KHSAA a letter urging additional considerations of alternative options for high contact sports.  I believe that ultimately means the KDE wants the KHSAA to consider delaying more.
