I think this says two small things about the 16th region. 1 Boyd may deserve a little more credit than they had previously recieved. 2. Ashland may be overrated. Boyd improves to 2-0 as Ashland falls to 1-2.

I dont have any stats on the game yet. I know Billy Blanton hit two free throws for Boyd with 12 seconds left to put Boyd ahead. Ashland then apparently missed a few shots with time running out in the game to tie it.

Boyd never trailed in this game after midway through the 2nd quarter.

Wow looks like Ashland is about I would say 5th in the region at best.

Boyd was clearly the better team out there tonight.

I don't have a problem with teams trying to run with athletic teams like Mason County early in the year - most (not all) folks like to see the kids play, and the kids on the undermanned teams still want the chance to run and gun with the big boys.

 

Later on in the season and at tourney time, however, is a completely different story. When you're way past the stage of evaluating personnel and the focus is on winning the game, slowing it down may be the only way to go.
