It doesn't get any easier for the Tomcats when they come to the Fieldhouse on Tuesday. I know Coach Biggs liked to run at PC but that might be a big mistake versus the Royals.

 

From the points put on the board in their last two games, I don't think Ashland is doing a lot of running and gunning. They appear to be running from a gun. Is "Buddy Ball" going to just be another version of "Flynny Ball"? Of course, we must remember that the season is young.

Boyd County Is going to continue to be better than Ashland the whole year.

 

I agree. C.D. Mayhew really had a big game tonight. They play alot better with him running the point. He has really gotten his game together. After watching B.C. tonight they look like a better team than last year. Blanton and Selbee were tough as well. Selbee is a man among boys.

I listened to the game on the internet, and it sounded like Ashland and Boyd are fairly evenly matched. At this point in the season, I don't think either team is significantly ahead of the other. Of course, that statement is probably true of pretty much the entire 16th Region.

 

On a side note, it's always nice to get online and see the kind comments about the kids, and the cheap shots fired at Buddy Biggs.

Let me get this straight. Buddy Biggs (or any coach, for that matter) should either live up to the expectations of someone (Ashland fan or not), or expect to be subjected to snide remarks by someone he has never met?

 

I'm not sure what it is that entitles you to publicly ridicule others (you took shots in another thread at Rose Hill) while hiding behind an avatar and a screen name.

 

As it was pointed out to you in the Rose Hill thread - if you wish to do some bragging on the Rowan County team and coaches, that's fine. I hope you do so. On the other hand, it would be nice (often called "polite") if you didn't feel the need to constantly rag on other teams (kids and coaches included). Many kids in middle school have not yet matured enough to realize that badmouthing classmates does not make them look better. It simply points out their own immaturity.

 

We all realize that BGP is a great place to "dig" at each other, and provoke responses. It would be appreciated, though, if you didn't use kids to acheive that goal. Biggs is an adult, and can defend himself. Of course, that would be predicated on your being man enough to make those nasty comments to his face. For some odd reason, I doubt that is going to happen.

 

If you wish to take shots at GIAT, myself, scooterbob, Fastbreak, Tomcat4Life, or anyone else that is a member of this board (and can respond) then that is fair game. To anonymously take shots at someone that doesn't post on here, because you know that they can't defend themselves is both cheap and revealing.

It's early in the season and upsets are to be expected. Russell almost lost to Greenup County tonight. Elliott County has had a problem getting untracked. Ashland is no different. I have been accused of amost everything on BGP but have never been called an Ashland homer. However, I feel sure that, come 2007, they will be fine and near the top of the region. In the meantime, the digs will come. But, in the end, GIAT may well get the last laugh.

I think you're out of line with this post. I have never ONCE bad mouthed a kid and I never will. I have also never ONCE taken a shot at Buddy Biggs or whatever his name is. When my teams lose, I get ragged on by GIAT, Scooterbob, and whoever else - I don't consider it a personal attack on me, my schools, or their players - I consider it my FRIENDS on BluegrassPreps that I will someday hopefully meet and get to know. We rag on each other because its fun and it leads to good exchanges - because we are sports fans. Everytime I see a prayer thread on here, I actually pray for those people because I consider them my BluegrassPreps family.

 

Also, I'm not hiding behind anything. That's why I use my actual real name as my nickname. I don't say anything on here that makes me feel the need to hide - that's why I use my name as my nickname. I state my opinions, I make jokes because I like to have a few laughs, and I state facts. There's never any doubt as to when I'm joking. I have forgotten more about basketball than most of the people on here will ever know - but I still choose to sometimes just try to have fun. I am no idiot - I know that Ashland will be right there at the end of the season. I know they have talent playing for a new coach and a new system. And while I know that, I am still living in Rowan County and my wife is from Elliott County and I played at Magoffin County - so that's who I'll be cheering for. And that's why I'll be taking shots at GIAT, just as he will to me when and if Ashland beats my teams. I thought we were all just having fun.
