Okay, I figured it out. GIAT has been too busy looking for a good picture of Coach Wilcox so he can change his avatar again. So busy he hasnt had time to congratulate Boyd on their win.

I think the WARNING has backed fired, Biggs seems like a class act guy,give him some time he will do fine.I think alot of teams get fired up to play the Cats due to the warning.

 

If you think a lot of teams are getting fired up over Giat's "warning" I think you highly overestimate the power of this website, most kids will look at it, think its funny and forget about it, the adults talk about so and so, and may get fired up about it, but they don't let us play

For the most part, this website has replaced the role of the Barbershop of 40 years ago, just a place for some fans to hash and rehash and talk some trash

Since you have to "pay to play", the vast majority of the posters are us old guys, and most of us Don't even need a haircut anymore:laugh:

Yup Yup. Coach Pratt is still the head man at Boyd. He was a great player from what I understand. I think his Jersey hanging on the wall in the gym says alot about the commitment and ties he has with Boyd. I think given enough time he could and will be a great coach at Boyd.

No objections to the statement what so ever. I graduated from Boyd not too long ago, and I will say this though. We all got on here during school and took a look at what everyone had to say.Im not gonna lie, sometimes we would print out what people had to say and post it in the locker room, especially during football season. I know as a ball player that I never needed a reason to get up when it came time to play the tomcats but I did hang on to every word one of their fans said on this site.

I think Ashland will be just fine this year. They Have one of the better coaches in the state . This is his first year with the team and it's all about chemistry. Once he gets the boy's to play buddy biggs basketball they will right back to the top of the state. Just look what he did at PC and I know he can get Ashland back to there winning tradition!

Last time I looked we was talking about Basketball, and by the way how many Regional championships banners are hanging at Russell.

No way I'm slamming on Coach Biggs. From all I've seen and know of him, he's a fine man and coach. I have no bones to pick with him. I'm sure he'll pick things up as the season progresses.

 

My point is after all the hullabaloo by reporters and fans about the new running and gunning style of play, (and GAIT's "WARNING") expectations were high. The painful reality is that in three games, the Cats average offensive output per game is 57.7 points. They clearly overmatched Rock Hill for a 21 point win, but in their first two losses against decent opponents they only averaged 45 ppg… and it will take an exceptional effort for the Cats to score more than 50 points against a solid Mason County team.

 

After Mason the Cats have a decent opportunity to balance up the season record with games against Lewis County, Belfry and Magoffin County. Lewis and Magoffin should pose no great difficulty for them, but Belfry (with Johnson County officiating) could eat the Cats alive if they’re not careful.

 

No big deal with any of this, other than to point out that the new up tempo style of play is not producing results all that different from the more controlled style of play Mike Flynn employed. I think they will do well to be at 4-3 on the morning of December 22, but they could just as easily be 3-4. To project beyond that is foolish without knowing who the “TBAs” are on the 22 and 23.

I just knew after I posted that, somebody would take it beyond what I intended. :lol:

 

I’m not suggesting that 15th Region officials will do anything improper, just that the Tomcats will not have the advantages they enjoy when playing at home. :thumb:

 

On paper, Ashland should have no problem with Lewis County, Belfry and Magoffin County bumping their season record to 4-3 following the inevitable spanking at Mason County. But with three games in three days, the Cats can't afford to have an off night or teams like Magoffin and Belfry could make it a long evening for them.
