I agree UL will travel well to south Flordia. They kinda got the shaft, they finally get that BCS game apperance, but get stuck with a matchup that I doubt will generate much national attention. I would suspect a lot of viewers will tune out from this game about mid way throught the 2nd qtr, which is about the time that this game should be over.

Louisville will have to take one step at a time, it has done so over the last 20 years and will will have to take a few more.

I think we will beat Wake. If we were to play LSU, I would like our chances but could just as well see us losing. A BCS win over LSU would be an excellent catapult to next season, but a loss could be equally devastating (look how bad the perception changed after a field goal loss to an undefeated team on the road). A win over Wake may not make many more believers, but it doesn't hurt and looks good for our conference.

I cannot imagine Wake having a strong following or great school support. Even if they did... how many kids go to Wake, it is less than 5000, is it not? Really small school.

What he is saying is the truth, in that had Rutgers won, it would have been likely that U of L would have gotten shut out....by a team that finished 4th in its conference and a team that got beat by 20+ twice in the same season.....

Very important for future BCS bowl selection and the Louisville fans are getting the job done. And this is not like Liberty bowl this game is not a day trip to Tennessee for a $50 ticket. This is a big deal, and a good thing for Louisville and the Big East to put behinds in the seats.Louisville expects 30-40 thousand fans in OB

Just checked on wikipedia and it has listed 4200 students at Wake. My college basketball Super Nintendo game I had a few years back listed all the teams and their enrollment... this was about 10-12 years ago I would guess; the enrollment at that time was like 3200. I wonder what the lowest # of students for a D-1 team is?

The Courier-Journal is reporting today that U of L may take as many as 50,000 fans to the Orange Bowl. :eek: Looks like interest among the Cardinal nation is far exceeding Wake Forest. The article said Louisville's ticket office had already sold 26,000 and has received 3,500 more. According to a local paper, Wake Forest had sold about 12,000 tickets.

 

I wouldn't expect this level of support for (even a BCS) bowl game every year since this is Louisville's first and many are undoubtedly making the trip to be part of that history. But, it would sure help Louisville's attractiveness to future bowls if the Cards could bring between 40,000 and 50,000 fans to Miami.

^ If Louisville ends up getting a nice relationship with the Orange Bowl, in this situation...I would look for the Cards to have a great following every year....Florida is a natural vacation spot for many from the 'Ville.

Impressive ticket sales...for any team.

Louisville has really done a good job of making tickets available to everyone who wants them. They have a package going on for students that is about $100 and that includes a ticket, two nights in a hotel and a ride to the game from the hotel. You're on your own as far as getting down to Miami, but still a heck of a deal and very affordable for any student who wants to go.
