Wireman
Troy Smith 2006 Season Stats: Passing: 2,507 YDS | 30 TD Rushing: 230 YDS | 1 TD 5 INT | 67.0 CMP% Brady Quinn 2006 Season Stats: Passing: 3,278 YDS | 35 TD Rushing: 65 YDS | 2 TD 5 INT | 63.4 CMP% Yeah these stats by Quinn are just average, and it would just be handing him the trophy even though he didn't do much...But wait almost every area Quinn had better numbers than Smith, but Quinn is just average... If you go by the numbers Quinn would get it, but Smith is going to get it for his performances against Texas and UM, and he deserves to get it over Quinn because of those performances... I would laugh for a week if Troy Smith stood up and started to walk on stage and the announcer said "goes to Brady Quinn - Notre Dame!"
futurecoach
I would laugh for a week if Troy Smith stood up and started to walk on stage and the announcer said "goes to Brady Quinn - Notre Dame!" That would be funny, and I wish Quinn would get it, but IMO Smith should get it...And as you said Quinn probably will get the QB award, and also more importantly one of the top picks in the draft where he will make alot of money... Hard Rock Fan
Handed to them. Just like their BCS bid. Their last 3 bids, including this year, the teams were average at best. The last 2, they've gotten a beat down and probably will this year too. They only get there because the media love them. As for Quinn: Army, Navy, Air Force, Stanford, Michigan St, UCLA and I'm probably forgetting somebody. Not exactly the toughest schedule you can have. Shane Boyd could probably put up those numbers against those teams. Besides, Zac Taylor at Nebraska had numbers you could compare to Quinn: 60% completions 3,071 yards 25 tds/7 ints 1 rushing td And Quinn had a lot more pass attempts against a weaker schedule. So yeah, I'd say, to me, Quinn is probably average.

Well first of all Im glad you are not an NFL scout, because I would hate to see how bad your team would be with the players you bring in, and how you let your hate for some school blind you to a fact of a player being really good. You compare Zac Taylor but lets see Quinn has more passing yards still, 10 MORE TDS, less interceptions and a better completion percentage... You name some of the schools Quinn has played, but name all the tough teams Smith has played this year, because like it or not besides two games this year they played a weak schedule and still didn't have as good of numbers..Also you left out games Quinn had against guess what Big 10 schools, and that is the teams Smith got to go against to in Penn State and Purdue. Before you even say anything about me being a ND fan, you need to quit letting your hatred of ND blind you to the fact that Quinn is a really good player and that is why he will be one of the top picks in the draft. I know I hate OSU, but I dont let that blind me to that fact that yes, Troy Smith should be the Heisman winner and I have even said that. But to say if Quinn got it, it would be handed to him is wrong because if it wasn't for Troy Smith Quinn would be getting it...

Belfry Wins
UCLA beat a team ranked higher than ND, and Michigan State was played by the Buckeyes also. Add to that games with Illinois, Northwestern, Indiana, and a Mac school. I think Quinn is the more complete and better quarterback and will do great int he pros. But no questions asked Smith deserves the Heisman. But dont get on here and di Quinn calls hes from South Ben. To be honest I dont like nether team the 2 QB's play for, but I have enough respect for football to know two great players when I see thema nd I enjoy watching both. Warrior32
Besides, Zac Taylor at Nebraska had numbers you could compare to Quinn: 60% completions 3,071 yards 25 tds/7 ints 1 rushing td Andre' Woodson 62.4 Completion % 3,216 Yards 28 tds/7 ints 1 Rushing TD So with these stats, This means Woodson is better then Taylor and Quinn? Remember no one from the SEC or Big Ten can go, so that eliminates Arkansas, Auburn and Wisconsin. Looks like it's between WVU, Rutgers, Texas, Georgia Tech or California. Who do you think is more deserving? As for Quinn: Army, Navy, Air Force, Stanford, Michigan St, UCLA and I'm probably forgetting somebody. Not exactly the toughest schedule you can have. Shane Boyd could probably put up those numbers against those teams. And Quinn had a lot more pass attempts against a weaker schedule. So yeah, I'd say, to me, Quinn is probably average. Wrong again. Quinn played the tougher schedule: Sagarin: ND-20, OSU-38, http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbt06.htm NCAA: ND-41, OSU 42, http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/2006/Internet/toughest%20schedule/ia_9games_cumm.pdf Care to rethink your analysis because your SOS point seems to go against Smith and support Quinn? What's the next unfounded bash on Notre Dame?
