woodsrider
Smith will win and I am not saying he isn't as deserving as Quinn. But why is everyone on here and in the media automatically giving it to him? Because he plays for the best team in the country? Quinn's numbers are better against a better schedule. Notre Dame is not half as good as tOSU so automatically everyone dismisses Quinn and hands the award to Smith. The only thing you can base performance on is stats and competition and Quinn wins in both of those catagories.
fieldhousekrayzie21
Smith will win it this year. But unless he gets hurt Mcfaddon has next year's heisman locked up. He is a monster. He is Reggie Bush with 20 more lbs on him. I am not looking forward to him running over us at UK next year.
fieldhousekrayzie21
At least he is Reggie Bush like... he hasn't reached that level yet but he is that type of player. He has his explosivness
SLINK
Probably won't happen, but I hope McFadden wins it.
HHSballer19
Troy Smith won it against Michigan. If Quinn wins it this year, I'm going to stop watching football.
DragonFire
Troy Smith deserves it, but it is getting to the point that the mean streak in me hopes he doesn't, simply because people act like it's a known fact. I was listening to Mike and Mike interview him, and Greenberg is talking about how he is going to go to New York to collect his Heisman on Saturday, what does he think of that, and things like that. I'm thinking it is one thing to feel it is almost certain, it is another to be talking to the guy and acting like it's already in his hands. SomersetFootball
It would be nice for the Heisman winnner to be from the SEC but that wont happen, IMO its Troy Smiths.
DragonFire
Who would you have put in over Notre Dame? Remember no one from the SEC or Big Ten can go, so that eliminates Arkansas, Auburn and Wisconsin. Looks like it's between WVU, Rutgers, Texas, Georgia Tech or California. Who do you think is more deserving? Wrong again. Quinn played the tougher schedule: Sagarin: ND-20, OSU-38, http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbt06.htm NCAA: ND-41, OSU 42, http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/2006/Internet/toughest%20schedule/ia_9games_cumm.pdf Care to rethink your analysis because your SOS point seems to go against Smith and support Quinn? What's the next unfounded bash on Notre Dame? Massey has ND better as well. ND at 19th toughest, OSU at 31st. Some people want to crush ND so much they forget that the only argument that Troy Smith wins (and it is THE most important argument which is why he should win) is that he performed better against the best teams. He absolutely dominated in the win against Michigan (29/41, 4, 1) and at Texas (17/26, 2, 0). Quinn against Michigan (24/48, 3, 3) far less impressive, though he did well at USC (22/45, 3, 0). RNCSportsaholic
And Quinn had a lot more pass attempts against a weaker schedule. So yeah, I'd say, to me, Quinn is probably average. Tell that to all the NFL scouts that have him as the #1 player in the draft.

h.s.sportsrbest
You'll be happy to know that Calvin Johnson and I won't be in Manhattan this weekend. Of course, to be fair, J.D. Booty won't be there either...thanks in large part, I'm sure, to the UCLA game.

Original Rookie
Those who argue that ND played a tougher schedule, and I guess they did, are you forgetting how Quinn and ND faired in their two biggest games?

Hard Rock Fan
Well first of all Im glad you are not an NFL scout, because I would hate to see how bad your team would be with the players you bring in, and how you let your hate for some school blind you to a fact of a player being really good. You compare Zac Taylor but lets see Quinn has more passing yards still, 10 MORE TDS, less interceptions and a better completion percentage... You name some of the schools Quinn has played, but name all the tough teams Smith has played this year, because like it or not besides two games this year they played a weak schedule and still didn't have as good of numbers..Also you left out games Quinn had against guess what Big 10 schools, and that is the teams Smith got to go against to in Penn State and Purdue. Before you even say anything about me being a ND fan, you need to quit letting your hatred of ND blind you to the fact that Quinn is a really good player and that is why he will be one of the top picks in the draft. I know I hate OSU, but I dont let that blind me to that fact that yes, Troy Smith should be the Heisman winner and I have even said that. But to say if Quinn got it, it would be handed to him is wrong because if it wasn't for Troy Smith Quinn would be getting it... I've been looking for awhile and I can't find where I said anything about Quinn in the NFL. I haven't found it. Please quote it for me. I don't believe the letters NFL were in my first post. That said, Quinn probably will be one of the top picks. I hope he enjoys it in Oakland and can get along with Moss. But just because he's picked near the top doesn't mean much. Look at Ryan Leaf. Great college QB, terrible NFL QB. Will Quinn be another Leaf? We'll find out in about a year. Maybe he will, maybe he won't. You can't say that he won't be a Leaf, because you don't know. I doubt many college QBs could be as bad as Leaf, but it can happen.
