I know why they dropped, but Oklahoma would beat everyone below the top 4 handily.

Irrelevant polls, the real poll comes out after week 10.

Agreed, but they give us something to discuss.

Honestly surprised to see how far Oklahoma fell. I actually would still have them at 6 if I was making a poll. They’re still the best 1 loss team in the country.

I still really am trying to figure out Penn State. I am thinking Oklahoma would blow them out. I know I expect the Buckeyes to.

I also cant see why Clemson is ahead of the Buckeyes in the coaches' poll but agreed that week 10 will tell the story.

I can't stand Ohio State, but how you can watch college football from the first game, until this week, and say that anyone has played better than them is beyond me.

LSU has an argument against that. But OSU is underrated in the polls thus far, imo. I feel like they and LSU are the two best in the country and the margin between #2 and #3 isn't as slim as it has been in recent years.

I find Clemson's schedule remarkable. They will go through the entire regular season and ACC title game with this being their three "toughest" games:

vs. Texas A&M (probably the what, 5th or 6th best SEC team?)

vs. Wake Forrest (not exactly a juggernaut)

vs. Virginia (or other ACC Coastal team in the ACC title game at a neutral site)

Their toughest road game on the season is at UNC or UL.

If we removed any notion of power 5 conferences and the fact that Clemson is the reigning national champion, I believe SMU would be more deserving of making the playoff this year should they and Clemson both finish undefeated. They will have played and beaten more ranked teams for sure.

And Darth Vader is gone. Ryan Day gets the “Dabo” persona very well.

LSU has an argument against that.

Not much of one. While LSU's top 3 wins are better than Ohio State's top 3 wins (Auburn, Florida, Texas vs Wisconsin, Michigan State, Cincinnati), the margin of victory in those games is DECIDEDLY in Ohio State's favor (LSU by 8, Ohio State by 32).

LSU has a better slate left, as well, led of course by Alabama, so if both LSU and Ohio State were to end up undefeated, I'd absolutely go with LSU #1 and Ohio State #2 at that point. However, at this point, Ohio State has been the better team.

Either way, they are the top 2, for sure, but Alabama has plenty of time to announce their presence again with authority. Clemson won't have an opportunity like that to improve their position as clearly 4th of this bunch, and not necessarily definitely even 4th.

Looks like the coaches value the SEC more than the AP. Interesting. That darn media might actually be less biased than the coaches.

Keep sleeping on Clemson. Somehow Clemson is an underdog again I love it. As an OSU fan you should know better. I bet you would love it if SMU got in over Clemson, I know Bama would have last year.

I didn’t mean that as a slight against Clemson, just a slight against how bad the ACC is this year. I’m not sleeping on Clemson nor is anyone else.
