2007 2A Football

It's kind of strange to see the Louisville-area district (D5) is placed in the east.

I couldn't even possibly attempt a Top Ten, I would be totally guessing, I know not enough to even try.

NewCath graduates a WHOLE lot of people.

NewCath graduates a WHOLE lot of people.

Actually I think the entire 2A district (NCC, Holy Cross, Newport, LLoyd) will be very young and down a lot from this year. NCC loses a whole lot, Newport will be replacing a three year record setting QB without hardly any Seniors, Holy Cross loses their OL/DL size and stud RB, Lloyd might lose the least but they were a bad team in 2006 and would need to improve a ton.

I see all four using the regular season to possibly get to where they can make a challenge in the playoffs.

Beechwood is going to be 1A but if they were in this district they IMO would be a heavy favorite.

LOL...

I'd guess you NCC'ers and HC'ers are in a "brave new world" now, eh ? Feeling a little displaced ?

:sssh: :D

I wish Mayfield and Beechwood would have played up...If they had, this would be a killer class...It's not bad, as it is.....Can someone tell me if Somerset played up...I just thought it kind of strange to move from 1a all the way to 3a. Or did there male enrollment actually put them there...

I thought Lloyd was moving up to 3A??????

Why?

That has never been the case. Four team district (NCC, Newport, Lloyd, Holy Cross) everybody in the playoffs. Guess that NCC/Newport game will be critical for home field..........oh never mind guess it will just determine the color of the jerseys.

I think there are three of the top ten in district 8. Corbin with Cashen and Nolan and the rest of the crew will be good and a top 5 pre-season team. Middlesboro has speed and talent returning and if they get the QB situation figured out, will be good. And Leslie Co. has 17 seniors to be and a great group of juniors including the QB who will be a lot better than last year. This is the toughest district in 2A.

As much as I dislike the new 6 class system, I must say 2A football is going to have some great football next year.

Top Ten...

1. NCC

2. Danville

3. Corbin

4. Owensboro Catholic

5. Bardstown

6. Middlesboro

7. Fort Campbell

8. Trigg Co.

9. Lelsie Co.

10. Prestonsburg
