Where would Ryle rank?

Featured Replies

#1 State Champion Trinity.

#2 State Runner-Up Ryle.

That is why we have a tournament to determine this. This is not the BCS or other bowl system.

If you doubt Ryle is number 2, ride to the mountains and see their trophy. Then check your teams trophy case and see if the covert is bare. You can not win this argument.

Ryle is number two. They showed a lot of class and their fans were INTO the game last night. Lets not slight kids that play High School ball. They gave it their best shot and got to the final. Many people who have posted on here for years were in the opinion that NKY 4A football wasn't in a class with anyone else in the state . WELL , they dispatched Meade and Henderson pretty darn good so give them their credit because it was earned.

The most one-dimensional offense I've seen since Army's Mr. Inside and Mr. Outside in the 1940's.

Let me get this straight you saw Mr. Inside and Mr. Outside in the 40's? Man, that means I am old...

We already knew that you were old...

Ryle goes 12-2 before last night's game and blows out many teams, most notably jumping to a 49-0 lead over 4-A semifinalist Henderson County. They then get blown out last night in one of the most lopsided 4-A finals ever. In fact, the last two times we had a non-Louisville team in the 4-A final, the scores are a combined 90-14. What does this say about the level of 4-A football outside of Louisville?

^ I said the same last night.

Union has mountains?

Yeah that MT. Burlington is a doozy.

Ryle is the state runner-up. They strolled the path setdown for them and they earned the right to be there.

IMVHO the result would have been the same had Male beaten Trinity and if Henry Clay would have beaten Trinity. They may have matched up better with X but depth would have hurt them.

I would definately rank the Big 3 ahead of them and probably Henry Clay and Lafayette....6th would be about right....They, imo, proved to be alot better than they were ranked at seasons end...

If I were to rank my year's end top ten this would be it...

1 - Trinity

2 - Male

3 - St. Xavier

4 - Henry Clay

5 - PRP

6 - Ryle

7 - Warren Central

8 - Henderson County

9 - Ballard

10 - Lafayette

IMHO:

Trinity

Male

St. X

Henry Clay

Ryle would be in the mix with Lafayette, Scott Co., Warren Central, Christian Co., and Manual for teams that could beat each other on any given day.

I agree with this assessment. They were definitely a top 10 team and belong somewhere between 5 and 10.
