Imo UK should be very happy Gunner Hoak did transfer. Instead of having to play a guy with basically no experience. They get a guy who has experience, and started most of last year for Troy and had some decent success too. It sucks about him getting hurt, as I was someone who kept talking him up last year how he will get better. When others were saying he sucks and shouldn't play. However, I don't think he makes a 15 point difference. I don't think UK is in that bad of shape with Sawyer having to play.

Agreed.

5/9 for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns...

He might be terrible against Florida but Wilson was no heisman candidate either....

Wilson is average, at best. A backup can easily give you what Wilson does. UK will be fine. If they aren’t going to beat Florida without him, they probably weren’t going to beat them with him.

But they beat Florida with him last year?

They also had a better defense led by an elite game changer on defense. This year the offense has to do a little more.

Worth at least 15 points.

I'm thinking along the same lines.

Terry chipped in with 256 total yards and 3 TD’s in his first ever SEC road game, at “The Swamp.” I guess I just think we should give him a little credit. I don’t think he’s one Sunbelt QB for another, seems disingenuous a tad bit.

True also don't forget he did that coming from a junior college. While the guy replacing him is coming from a D1 school and had pretty decent success. So it's not like the stage will be to big for him. I don't think it will be as big of a difference as some say. Now if Gunner Hoak was still here, and his complete lack of experience. I would say UK would be in big trouble.

So? They had Benny Snell and Josh Allen, among others.

If the backup was a freshman with zero experience, you might have a point. Wilson is average. If the back up is equally average, the outcomes will be the same with or without Wilson.

Well considering Hoak couldn’t even win the backup job at OSU over Chris Chugonov I think it’s safe to say UK would be in a ton of trouble if Hoak was starting this week.

Wilson’s experience is probably worth 3 points or so in this game. Long term I didn’t think they would win this game with Terry anyways and over the course of the season I don’t think the outcomes will be drastically different either. This is still probably a 7-8 win team now with as bad as the SEC East is.

I believe I heard that Wilson is 12-3 as a starter.

True.

Kentucky 27-24.

PFF, one of the most reputable sites out there listed Terry as the #46 starting college football this year. I disagree with you, you can’t just replace that off the bench. He’s one of the top running QB’s in the SEC, if not the top.

Again, you're not replacing him with some freshman that has no experience.

I agree that anytime you put in a back up there is going to be some "interruption." But Terry Wilson isn't so good that UK's season is doomed because he is out. They will be fine.

And WITH a full week of first team practices.
