No one in the racing business to my knowledge has said Saez was at fault despite Casse saying (paraphrasing) that Maximum Security was weaving like a drunk driver. Of course, that comment was prompted by the Wests saying War of Will was at fault.
May 15, 20197 yr I am wondering if Saez suspension may be setting up background in the event of a lawsuit promised by West. And, the saying in the horse world by the way is: "it is never the horse's fault". Also, this was Saez's third or fourth offense for careless/reckless riding and this factors in the level of punishment.

I like it. For a guy that has been in the game a long time, I cannot believe that he really thinks his horse should have stayed up after what occurred. And if so confident in his horse, he should have run him this weekend. He will not run in the Belmont either because he cannot go that far.

He had seemingly gone off the deep end after the Derby, and he has alienated many in the sport in the last few weeks. However, I will say I appreciate his passion for his horse in defending him and his jockey, and I appreciate that he is proposing a scenario that would indeed generate additional interest in racing as well as provide significant funds to provide a safety net for those (beside the horses) who take the most physical risk in racing without the financial rewards.
