April 10, 20197 yr I believe Jones can can improve his draft stock tremendously. His poor shooting seems mental to me, and with another year to build his confidence, he will be around that lottery line. His defensive prowess is as good as it gets. I hope he stays at least three years. He won’t be needed to be a shooter next year either.

April 10, 20197 yr Ehhh, I haven’t seen him any lower than 10th. I’ll be surprised if he drops. This year’s draft is weak. He could come back, get hurt or get exposed and his stock would free fall. Coach K isn’t Rick Pitino. No way he advises Cam to come back. Plus they already have Boogie Ellis, Wendell Moore and Vernon Carey coming in and the Matthew Hurt to Duke noise is getting louder. Cam isn’t needed by Coach K for Coach K to wrongly manipulate him to come back. Also, Cam said from day one he was only at Duke for one year. You are more than likely correct, I've just never been sold on him. I've watched more Duke basketball this year (Zion Effect) than ever and Cam just doesn't excite me.

I wish he had gone somewhere else to better showcase his skills. He’s too good to have been their third option with limited freedom. I think he will be a really good pro. The potential is there anyways.

I think the Zion effect had the same effect as Lebron has when other top players joined him. When Lebron has had two other stars join him. The third star always all of a sudden didnt look nearly as good once with Lebron. Bosh and Love were all pro top 10 players before joining Lebron. Not so much after. I think same type of thing happen with Reddish. It's hard for other top talent to truly show it, when you may also have two other stars with them.

The potential is there anyways. Remind you of Devin Booker's freshman year at UK vs. the potential he might have in the NBA?
April 11, 20197 yr Great decision, Tre was the ugly sister on the team full of studs this year. I’m not sure I would call the best defender on the team an ugly sister. Not to mention, Duke was significantly more erratic when he wasn’t on the floor. Edited April 11, 20197 yr by TheDeuce
April 11, 20197 yr Great decision, Tre was the ugly sister on the team full of studs this year. This isn’t even remotely true. The ugly sister was second on the team in minutes played per game. That’s far from ugly. Tre was arguably the most important player on the team.

Yeah well he’s back for a reason and delaying his millions for a reason. He’s a really good college player but will do 1/5 of what the big 3 will do at the next level.
April 11, 20197 yr Yeah well he’s back for a reason and delaying his millions for a reason. He’s a really good college player but will do 1/5 of what the big 3 will do at the next level. I haven’t met a single person who has said that Tre Jones will be as good in the NBA as his classmates. Not one. It’s a shame that the one and done rule has made people despise and insult kids that are clearly good college basketball players. It’s like people forget that having a good experienced PG is one the keys to success in April. You sound like the folks upset at Ashton Hagans coming back. Nevermind that there is nothing wrong with playing 2-4 years in college if your game isn’t NBA ready yet.

Delaying his millions? How can you delay something that doesn’t exist? Nevermind that his brother makes millions and his family seems to be in a good financial spot so he doesn’t need to go pro to buy his mom a house. Tre will be fine.

Nevermind that there is nothing wrong with playing 2-4 years in college if your game isn’t NBA ready yet. Except if you read my post it in the Hagans coming back thread, I am said “his only decision.” He absolutely needs to come back. Like Jones, he will end up being a really good college player and NBA who knows, it depends on year 2 of college for both of them.

Well you’re the one saying he was the most important player on a team of superstars. Why isn’t he cashing in on that hype, because the NBA says likely a 2nd round pick in this draft? Now that the “big 3” are gone maybe it’s his team. He was a really good player on a team of superstars. Facts.
