Odell Beckham Jr Traded to Cleveland

Great move for the Giants minus the getting Peppers part.

A wide receiver with a glass chin, isn't a good thing to have.

You dont like Peppers? Seems a lot of people say he is not just a throw in...he's a quality starter with return capabilities.

Regarding Peppers: he was selected in the draft to be a high impact player on defense. He is a freakish athlete, able to play LB at a Big 10 school or safety. Brown's former DC Gregg Williams wanted to use him playing deep in the secondary as someone who would be a ball hawk. It didn't quite pan out. Then they modified that role to more of a normal free safety. But Peppers wasn't ever comfortable in that role.

For 2018, Cleveland brought in veteran free safety, Demarious Randall from the Packers and Peppers went to Strong Safety.

He settled into that role during last season. He was ranked by Pro Football Focus as the 6th best safety in the league as he was more comfortable playing SS but he has not yet lived up to expectations as an impact player. Perhaps he will respond to new coaching and system in his 3rd season and become the unique impact player the Browns thought he was coming out of Michigan as a hybrid LB.

He also handled most of the punt return and kick return duties for the Browns. He still has a lot of upside. The Giants may end up with a very good player in Peppers. He certainly has the potential athletically to be an impact player.

Regarding Peppers: The most overrated and overhyped player in the history of college football. The fact that he isn’t panning out to be anything more than just a serviceable starting safety in the league shouldn’t surprise anyone.

How is this a great move for the Giants? They've said all along it would take two 1st round picks to get OBJ, and now they only get the 17th and 95th picks? The chances of replacing their best player (who is in his prime) with one of those picks is remote. Not to mention, they signed him to an extension a year ago, and now have $16 million in dead money stuck to their salary cap, futher limiting the moves they can make. If this was all you were going to get, why not move on BEFORE the big extension? And they still don't have a QB. They had salary cap problems, which are now much worse.

He is a broken down receiver. Can't stay on the did. A yes in only half of the teams games the last two seasons.

He’s 26 and still in his prime with probably 4-6 elite years left. He still had over 1000 yards in limited action last year, playing with one of the worst QB’s in the league (yes I said it...Eli Manning is garbage at this point in his career). You may not like him as a person, but OBJ is still an elite receiver, one of the top 3 or 4 in the league.
