October 8, 20196 yr Author Ed Norton has owned the film rights to the crime novel "Motherless Brooklyn", set in 1950s New York City, for several years now. He finally started filming under his own direction in February. Cast includes himself in the starring role, along with Willem Dafoe, Bruce Willis, Alec Baldwin, Leslie Mann, Bobby Cannavale, Michael K. Williams, and Dallas Roberts. Looks interesting.

October 8, 20196 yr Author A Hidden Life I may not catch this one in the theaters, but I definitely want to see it. Written & directed by Terrance Malick (The Thin Red Line, The Tree of Life), this movie is about Franz Jägerstätter, a WWII-era conscientious objector from Austria who was sentenced to death and executed by the Nazis. Jägerstätter, a Catholic, was named a martyr of the Church and was beatified under Pope Benedict XVI; it's unclear whether or not the Vatican is currently pursuing his canonization as a saint. @Bert @nkypete @rockmom @Getslow this one might interest you folks.

Burns (An Inconvenient Truth, The Informant), this movie is about the Senate Intelligence Committee's investigation that took place from 2009-2012 regarding the CIA's use of torture in the years following 9/11. Cast includes Adam Driver, Annette Bening, Michael C. Hall, Tim Blake Nelson, and Jon Hamm. Adam Driver is being talked up for Oscar contention for his role.
October 8, 20196 yr Author The King Co-written by Joel Edgerton and Australian writer/director David Michôd, who also directed. It's based on William Shakespeare's Henry IV, Parts 1 & 2 and Henry V. It's about the life of England's King Henry V, who grew up in a military lifestyle under his father Henry IV's reign, and became England's King in 1413 when he was 26 years old. He helped defeat France during the Hundred Years' War (which actually lasted 113 years) and essentially set the foundation for England to begin its path towards becoming the empire it was known for from the late 1500s through the late 1800s. October 8, 20196 yr Author Dark Waters Directed by Todd Haynes (I'm Not There, Carol) about the private investigation of the 2010 DuPont Chemical plant leak in West Virginia that allowed a number of toxic chemicals to make their way directly into the state's waterways, the most notable being the release of 80 tons of methanol into the Kanawha River near Charleston and a phosgene leak that killed one of their workers. DuPont was accused of covering up the accidents, which took place in three separate incidents over the course of two days in January of 2010. The private investigation led to official investigations by the US Chemical Safety Board and the EPA. The investigations ended in a $1.275 million fine from the EPA, approximately $2.3 million in other claims with US agencies, and a $600 million settlement in a class-action suit brought forward by Robert Bilott with Taft Stettinius & Hollister law firm out of Cincinnati. Mark Ruffalo plays Robert Bilott in the movie. Anne Hathaway, Tim Robbins, Victor Garber, and Bill Pullman are also in the cast.

This one has a big cast of famous names including Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Toni Collette, and Christopher Plummer.
October 8, 20196 yr Author Jexi This one looks like a fairly entertaining comedy/rom-com starring Adam DeVine. The basis is that DeVine's character is a single guy with a ho-hum life who gets a new phone that includes an advanced AI app that acts as a virtual assistant and life coach, and it helps him meet some new folks including a girl but the AI app ends up with some serious attachment issue's to DeVine. October 8, 20196 yr Author Richard Jewell It's hard to turn down Clint Eastwood's directorial projects. This one is about Richard Jewell, the security guard who found the backpack filled with pipe bombs in Centennial Olympic Park during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. The bomb was planted in the park and an anonymous 911 was placed warning that a bomb would go off at the park within 30 minutes. Jewell was able to locate the backpack and help begin evacuating the area, but it detonated before everyone was cleared from the area and killed one woman with shrapnel, injured 111 more, and another man died of a heart attack while running to evacuate. As a result of discovering the bomb, the FBI named Jewell as a person of interest in their investigation, and despite never being arrested or charged with anything, Jewell was subjected to an exhaustive trial by media in the months and years following until he was completely exonerated after white supremacist Eric Rudolph (another suspect in the bombing investigation) was caught in 2003 and was convicted for the Centennial Olympic Park bombing in addition to a two abortion clinic bombings and the bombing of an Atlanta gay bar.

December 27, 20196 yr I’d like to see the new Star Wars movie. Gotta make a trip to Richmond or Winchester to see how everything wraps in the final movie.
