November 17, 200619 yr Brooks will win you over yet... .... Perhaps he will, I've always been open minded but than again.... :lol: No denying the accomplishments this season. A tribute to the players hard work, coaches and working for one common goal, to make UK football successful. Brooks is the head coach and often times, they get undeserved criticism for results and praise when things are good....Things are better and I give him credit for that. I've said on many, many threads....the UK football fans, deserve, want and will support a winning program.

Coach Brooks certainly has shown a lot of that at UK and has handled the haters with class. I've been a supporter of Rich through the hard times and remember all of the people who called me out for supporting him... watching people jump ship is fun. I remember someone called him the "Worst hire in history.":lol: Congrats Coach... you deserve it!:thumb:
November 17, 200619 yr One above horrible season and all of a sudden.....haha. It's been a little better than "above horrible". UK has a chance to win 8 games this year, and they've played decent in every game (aside from the LSU game)...this has been a great year for UK football.
November 17, 200619 yr What happens next year when they are 3-9 again? They won't be. They get nearly everyone back with only 5 contributing seniors on the team. You should know about struggles at UK to even have winning seasons. You should understand being an IU fan. Similar struggles for a basketball school.

I think he has us headed in the right direction, and I think by the time he leaves he will have UK back to respectability, which will make the job much more attractive for potential coaches than it has been in my lifetime. That's ultimately what I want...I want Brooks to have us at a level that will attract some good coaches when his time at UK is over. If we change coaches in the near future, it's just going to set us back again...that cycle has to end. As for Archer...I still think he's a good coach. If it were up to me, I'd keep him for at least another year. That said, I wouldn't be up in arms if they make a change.

November 19, 200619 yr I was not a fan of Rich Brooks but he has done a great job. The Cats are a better football team now than when RB took over the program, and the players have respect for Brooks, so that is enough to convince me that he deserves an extension on his stay in Lexington. I hope the Cats continue to turn things around. This season has been exciting and I have enjoyed watching A. Woodson develope into a very good QB. Go Big Blue!!!
