November 20, 200619 yr Rich Brooks by all measures has been and is an honorable man. He took over one of the worst situations in American and in his 4th year has UK in a bowl game. If that doesn't earn you an extention nothing should.
November 20, 200619 yr I say give Rich another 2-3 years; I'm sure that'll be enough time for him to start drawing from social security and AARP. Regardless, he deserves it! :thumb:
November 20, 200619 yr Kentucky should offer Coach Brooks an extension. He has done a whole lot to turn around Kentucky football, but I think the most important thing he has done is to change the attitude and mentality of his football team. The last few years faced with the adversity Kentucky has faced, most notably in the Georgia game, they would have folded their tent and lost. But this years team keeps battling until the game is over, they put it out there and play hard the whole game. Brooks deserves an extension. I think he might need to find a new defensive coordinator/philosophy, but that's a different story.
November 20, 200619 yr Sorry, guys, but I'm with RRR on this one. I think that Bobby Petrino will continue to dominate RB, no matter when the game is played. If Kentucky continues to get better 11 other games a year, great. I would like to see that happen. Brooks' contract extension should come with a clause that Mike Archer has to go. Although I am (unsarcastically) happy to see that Joker will be likely to return.

November 20, 200619 yr I'm confused about what Bobby Petrino has to do with this.RRR's point was that he'd like to see RB return because he doesn't think Rich Brooks can beat Louisville. He's not the type that has to see Kentucky lose every game. So, that's what he has to do with it.

November 20, 200619 yr If UK continues to improve I see no reason why UK can't compete with Louisville.I think UK improved this year, and were completely blown out. Improvement is relative. I think UK will continue to get better, but Brooks is not going to be in this state in a professional capacity long enough to get better than Louisville. Petrino is a better coach, and a better recruiter. And as good as UK gets, I still think Petrino will have the upper hand on Brooks. UK had a perfect chance to upset a mentally weak Louisville team last year in Lexington, and couldn't do it. Will it ever be that close agian in the era of these two coaches? Rich Brooks' teams have been outscored by Bobby Petrino's teams 158-76. Can RRR be faulted for cheering for 'four more years?'
November 20, 200619 yr If UK's defense improves lets say to #60, then they will compete with UoL WVU and UoL are GREAT offensively, but not that good defensively. I think the Big East can get national attention when WVU and UoL get better defensively, and Rutgers and UC get better offensively.
November 20, 200619 yr Once again Rich Brooks is an honorable man. Petrino's antics and lack of honor will catch up to him. See Hal Mumme.
