It looks like a good catch. When the ball first hit the receiver's hands, his left foot was still on the ground, then he clearly dragged the right foot to complete the catch.

The foot was not down when the ball touched his hands...

I don't think Brady played as bad as some are saying. As a Bengals fan, I know bad QB play when I see it. Brady would hate me calling him this, but I think he was a good "game manager" yesterday. Somebody had to throw those passes to Edelman.

When Pats fans say Brady played poorly, believe them.

I’m not saying it’s easy or that I would be good at it, but when I watched that play in real time it didn’t look like a catch to me.

From our home vantage, I agree. The first replay I saw I said, "wow, that was a closer than I thought it was." That is why replay is available. Had the Pats not burned through a couple of timeouts earlier, I think they would have challenged and won, but it was close.

He made a nice throw to Gronkowski that led the TD.

Both throws to Gronk on that drive were sweet. On the go-ahead drive Brady was 4-4 with two outstanding throws.

Was on a plane home from Phoenix during the game. Thankfully the headrest in front of me had TV and I could watch it.

Not so thankfully, I was exhausted and nodded off through the majority.

Thankfully again it sounds like the game was boring, commercials suck, and halftime was bad.

Worst tv ratings in 10 years.

Congrats to the Pats. The Brady/Belichick combo is the best the NFL has ever and will ever see.

Welcome to the #GotSix club. :D

Gotta respect the dynasty. I am not a Pat's fan but appreciate greatness.

He had a QBR of 26, I believe.

Correct, according to the radio. Goff had a QBR of 13.

I was at Disney for the parade today since I’m down here for the next 5 months. Trying to upload a picture of Brady and Edelman but it’s not letting me. Just an absolute sea of Patriots fan. It makes me sick. It was cool to see it though.

Ratings are only going to get worse.

Before people start celebrating the demise of NFL football, ratings were up this season, for what it is worth. The playoffs killed it as far as ratings go. A 10 year low in the Super Bowl probably means it was the 10th most watched show the past 10 years.

If there was a game to not watch, it was this one, though :lol2:

Based on how much people here and elsewhere dislike this game, which I thought was awesome defense and fun to watch, I expect some new rules next year. Corner backs must line up 10 yards off the ball. If anyone rushing the passer waves at the quarterback it will be declared intentional harassment, 10 yard penalty. Defensive backs will not be allowed to hit receivers in between the hash marks after they catch the ball until they have run 5 yards after the catch.

True, when the league is in autopilot, people watch. When there’s two weeks to sit around and talk about it before hand, we see a drop.

Those 5.2 mill 30 second commercials, might be slightly discounted next year? Lol

Best stat I heard while I was awake. Patriots lost 5 games during the season. None of the teams that beat them made the playoffs.

So that means they beat every playoff team on their schedule...obviously including the three teams they played in the playoffs...just a weird stat...

How do you beat KC twice (including once in Arrowhead), the Bears at Soldier field, and the Chargers like a tied up goat...and lose to the Dolphins, Jaguars (by 11), Titans (by 24!), and Lions (by 16!)? The NFL is definitely a week to week league...

What would Brady's QBR be if he threw a TD pass at the goal line instead of handing it off to Michel. That is one problem with QBR IMO. If you throw a TD pass from the 1 yard line, it really helps your QBR when the team could most likely score either by running or throwing. He did complete 21-35 passes for 262 yards. 60% is not bad and that is not a horrible "yards per attempt" either. The pick also killed his QBR...and while not a good throw, it was a tipped ball...lots of luck involved on whether a tipped ball is picked.

I am NOT saying Brady played a great game for him by any means. I think he would tell you he played a sub-par game. I will say that he did not play a horrible game IMO.

QB ratings are the algorithmic equivalent of the mixture of the eye of a newt, a toad's foot, the beak of a wren, the blood of a chicken, etc. Who created the formula and based on what logic? Isn't the best rating an oddball number of 176 or something? What is up with that?
